2020–21 FC Basel Season
The 2020–21 is FC Basel's 127th season in existence and the club's 26th consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football since their promotion in the 1993–94 season. The 2020–21 Swiss Super League season started on the weekend 19–20 September 2020 and ended on 21 May 2021. In addition to the Swiss Super League, Basel also participated in this season's Swiss Cup and the UEFA Europa League. Club FC Basel Holding AG The FC Basel Holding AG (Holding) owns 75% of the club FC Basel (FC Basel 1893 AG) and the other 25% is owned by the club itself. As of the 2020 AGM in June, Bernhard Burgener owned about 82% of the shares in the Holding, David Degen owned 10% and about 8% was held by four small investors. Fussball Club Basel 1893, widely known as FC Basel, FCB, or just Basel, is a Swiss football club based in Basel, in the Canton of Basel-Stadt. Formed in 1893, the club has been Swiss national champions 20 times, Swiss Cup winners 13 times, and Swiss League Cup winners once. TSV 1860 Rosenheim is a German association sport club from the town of Rosenheim, Bavaria. The origins of the club are in the establishment of the gymnastics club and community fire brigade ''Freiwillige Turnerfeuerwehr Rosenheim'' on 20 October 1860. Alexander Frei or Alex Frei (born 15 July 1979) is a Swiss professional football coach and a former player who played as a forward. He is currently the manager of Basel. He began his career at Basel, going on to various other clubs in Switzerland, France and Germany before returning to his home club, where he won the Swiss Super League title in all four of his seasons, including doubles with the Swiss Cup in 2010 and 2012. Massimo Colomba
Massimo Colomba (born 24 August 1977, in Villars-sur-Glâne) is a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeper coach of both FC Sion. Career As a child Colomba played in the youth teams of his local side FC Villars-sur-Glâne. In 1995, he moved to Fribourg and played one year for FC Richemond and one for FC Beauregard. FC Wil (''Fussball Club Wil 1900'') is a football club based in Wil, Switzerland. They play in the ''Sportpark Bergholz'', which has a total capacity of 6,048. Ruedi Zbinden
Ruedi Zbinden (* 30 March 1959) is a Swiss former footballer and is now Sportdirector of FC Basel. Active football career Nordstern Basel Zbinden played mainly in the position of striker, but also as a midfielder. He started his youth football by Nordstern Basel and advanced to the first team in 1978. In his first season by Nordstern they were relegated to the Nationalliga B. The following season, 1979–80, they achieved immediate promotion. Zbinden scored 12 goals in 25 games in that promotion season.
