2020–21 Ekstraklasa
The 2020–21 Ekstraklasa (also known as PKO Ekstraklasa due to sponsorship reasons) was the 95th season of the Polish Football Championship, the 87th season of the highest tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1927 and the 13th season of the Ekstraklasa under its current title. The league was operated by the Ekstraklasa SA. The regular season was played as a round-robin tournament. A total of 16 teams participated, 13 of which competed in the league during the previous season, while the remaining three were promoted from the 2019–20 I liga. On 24 July 2020 Ekstraklasa SA and Polish Football Association announced the 2020–21 season calendar. The season started on 21 August 2020 and concluded on 16 May 2021. Due to the season start being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was shortened to 30 matchdays without a split into Championship and Relegation groups. Poland Ekstraklasa (), meaning "Extra Class" in Polish, named PKO Ekstraklasa since the 2019–20 season due to its sponsorship by PKO Bank Polski, is the top Polish professional league for men's association football teams. Contested by 18 clubs, operating a system of promotion and relegation with the I liga, seasons start in July, and end in May or June the following year. Teams play a total of 34 games each. Jagiellonia Białystok () is a Polish football club based in Białystok that plays in the Ekstraklasa, the top level of Polish football. The club was founded in 1920 by soldiers in the Reserve Battalion in Białystok. Jagiellonia play their home games at Stadion Miejski. The club won the Polish Cup and Super Cup in 2010 and qualified to play in the third round qualification of the UEFA Europa League. It was the club's first appearance in the European cup. The Polish Football Association ( pl, Polski Związek Piłki Nożnej; PZPN) is the governing body of association football in Poland. It organizes the Polish football leagues (without the Ekstraklasa), the Polish Cup and the Polish national football team. It is based in the Polish capital of Warsaw. The 2019–20 I liga (currently named Fortuna I liga due to sponsorship reasons) was the 72nd season of the second tier domestic division in the Polish football league system since its establishment in 1949 and the 12th season of the Polish I liga under its current title. The league was operated by the PZPN. The league was contested by 18 teams. The regular season was played in a round-robin tournament. The season started on 26 July 2019 and concluded on 26 July 2020 (regular season). On 13 March 2020, the PZPN suspended the league due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The 1927 Liga was the 7th edition of the Polish Football Championship (6th completed season ended with the selection of a winner) and the 1st season of the Liga (now Ekstraklasa), the top Polish professional league for association football clubs. The league was operated by the ''Polska Liga Piłki Nożnej'' (PLPN). The champions were Wisła Kraków, who won their 1st Polish title.
