2020–21 Colorado Avalanche Season
The 2020–21 Colorado Avalanche season was the 26th operational season and 25th playing season since the franchise relocated from Quebec prior to the start of the 1995–96 NHL season. As well as the franchise's 42nd season in the National Hockey League and 49th season overall. The Avalanche commemorated their 25th anniversary this season. West Division (NHL)
The West Division of the National Hockey League existed from 1967 until 1974 when the league realigned into two conferences of two divisions each. The division was reformed for the 2020–21 NHL season (and branded as the Honda West Division for sponsorship reasons) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 1967 the NHL doubled in size, going from six teams to twelve. The Original Six, as the pre-1967 teams became retroactively known, were grouped into the East Division, while the expansion teams were placed into the West Division. This was done in order to keep teams of similar competitive strength in the same division, regardless of geographic distance, and to ensure playoff revenue for the new franchises. Jonas Johansson (ice Hockey, Born 1995)
Jonas Olov Johansson (born 19 September 1995) is a Swedish professional ice hockey goaltender for the Colorado Eagles in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). Johansson was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round, 61st overall, at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Along with Buffalo, Johansson has previously played with the Florida Panthers in the NHL and Brynäs IF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe was a series of two outdoor regular season National Hockey League (NHL) games, held on the weekend of February 20–21, 2021. Hunter Miska (born July 7, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with the Straubing Tigers in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He has formerly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche.
