The 2020–21 season was the 101st season in the existence of Cagliari Calcio and the club's fifth consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. In addition to the domestic league, Cagliari participated in this season's edition of the Coppa Italia. The season covered the period from 2 August 2020 to 30 June 2021. Cagliari Calcio, commonly referred to as Cagliari (), is an Italian football club based in Cagliari, Sardinia. In the 2022-23 season, they compete in Serie B. As of 2021–22, the team is temporarily playing their home games at the 16,416-seat Unipol Domus, adjacent to their future new stadium site. Founded in 1920, they won their only '' Scudetto'' in 1969–70, when they were led by the Italian national team's all-time leading scorer, Gigi Riva. The triumph was also the first by a club from south of Rome. The club's best European performance was in the 1993–94 UEFA Cup, losing in the semi-finals to Internazionale. Charalampos 'Babis' Lykogiannis ( el, Χαράλαμπος 'Μπάμπης' Λυκογιάννης; born 22 October 1993), also known as ''Lykos'' (Greek for "wolf" – from the first letters of his name), is a Greek professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Serie A club Bologna and the Greece national team. Gastón Pereiro
Gastón Rodrigo Pereiro López (born 11 June 1995) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Cagliari and the Uruguay national team. Club career Pereiro grew from the youth system of Nacional. In April 2012, along with Diego Baldi, Leandro Otormín and Rodrigo Amaral, he traveled to England to participate in a ten-day training session at Liverpool. Kwadwo Asamoah
Kwadwo Asamoah (, ; born 9 December 1988) is a Ghanaian former professional footballer. Mainly a left midfielder or left-back, he was also occasionally deployed as a central midfielder. Nahitan Nández
Nahitan Michel Nández Acosta (born 28 December 1995) is a Uruguayan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Cagliari and the Uruguay national team. After starting his career at Peñarol, he later played in Argentina for Boca Juniors and in Italy for Cagliari. Mattéo Tramoni (born 20 January 2000) is a French professional association football, footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Pisa S.C., Pisa. Club career Tramoni made his professional debut for AC Ajaccio in a 3–0 Ligue 2 win against Valenciennes FC on 19 September 2017, at the age of 17. He scored his first professional goal in a 2–0 win over Football Bourg-en-Bresse Péronnas 01 on 29 September 2017. On 1 July 2021, he joined Brescia Calcio, Brescia on loan.
