Although the United States Virgin Islands did not participate in the 2020 presidential election because it is a U.S. territory and not a state, it still participated in the U.S. presidential caucuses and primaries. Former vice president Joe Biden won the Democratic caucuses, held on June 6. The Republican caucuses, held on March 14 in the form of a territorial convention, voted for incumbent president Donald Trump. The 2020 United States presidential election was the 59th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The Democratic ticket of former vice president Joe Biden and the junior U.S. senator from California Kamala Harris defeated the incumbent Republican president Donald Trump and incumbent vice president Mike Pence.
