2020 United States House Of Representatives Elections In Georgia
The 2020 United States House of Representatives elections in Georgia was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the 14 U.S. representatives from the state of Georgia, one from each of the state's 14 congressional districts. The elections coincided with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the House of Representatives, elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. Primaries were held on June 9, 2020, coinciding with primaries for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, General Assembly, county and regional prosecutorial offices as well as local non-partisan elections. It was the first time since 1994 that both major parties contested all congressional districts in the state, even though the Democratic nominee for the 14th district had suspended his campaign prior to the general election; it was also the first time since 2012 that Republicans contested all districts, as it was for Democrats for the first time since 2008. Macon ( ), officially Macon–Bibb County, is a consolidated city-county in the U.S. state of Georgia. Situated near the fall line of the Ocmulgee River, it is located southeast of Atlanta and lies near the geographic center of the state of Georgia—hence the city's nickname, "The Heart of Georgia". Sanford Dixon Bishop Jr. (born February 4, 1947) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the U.S. representative for , serving since 1993.
