The Men's keirin competition at the 2020 UCI Track Cycling World Championships was held on 27 February 2020. Results First round The first round was started at 14:30. Velodrom (Berlin)
The Velodrom (velodrome) is an indoor track cycling arena, in the Prenzlauer Berg locality of Berlin, Germany. Holding up to 12,000 people, it was also Berlin's largest concert venue, until the opening of O2 World (Berlin), O2 World in 2008. It is part of a larger complex, which includes a swimming pool as well, built in the course of the unsuccessful Berlin application for the 2000 Summer Olympics. This project is related to the German reunification and the wish of a city, Berlin, about to become the capital, to be nominated for the Olympic Games. It replaced the former Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle, which was demolished in 1993. It mainly hosts indoor sporting events, trade shows and concerts. Matthijs Büchli
Matthijs Büchli (born 13 December 1992) is a Dutch road bicycle racing, road and Track cycling, track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Track Team . He became world champion in the keirin at the 2018 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. In 2016, Büchli won the silver medal in the Cycling at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's keirin, men's keirin at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, despite experiencing a severe knee injury only five months before the Olympic Games. Theo Bos (born 22 August 1983) is a Dutch former professional road and track cyclist. An Olympic silver medalist and five-time world champion, he is the brother of Olympic medalist in speed skating Jan Bos. On 29 November 2021, he announced his retirement of the professional cycling sport and took up the job of national track coach of the Chinese national track team. Denis Sergeyevich Dmitriev (russian: Денис Сергеевич Дмитриев; born 23 March 1986) is a Russian track cyclist. Specialising in the sprint events, Dmitriev's best result in international sports was winning a gold medal at the 2017 World Championships in Hong Kong. Maximilian Levy (born 26 June 1987) is a German former track cyclist. Levy won a bronze medal in the men's team sprint representing Germany at the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won another bronze in the men's team sprint, and a silver in the men's keirin. He was the world champion in keirin 2009 and in the team sprint 2010, 2011, and 2013. Jack Carlin (born 23 April 1997) is a Scottish track cyclist, who competes in sprinting events and won two medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Cycling career In 2016, Carlin won his first senior international medal when taking silver at the European Track Championships in the team sprint. In 2018 he won silver medals at the World Championships in both the sprint and team sprint. This was followed by silver in the sprint at the Commonwealth Games and bronze at the European Championships in the keirin.
