2020 TCR Japan Touring Car Series
The 2020 TCR Japan Touring Car Series was the second season of the TCR Japan Touring Car Series. The series supported the 2020 Super Formula Championship. Race calendar The calendar was announced in 2019 with six confirmed dates with all rounds held in Japan and supporting the Super Formula Championship. A revised calendar was released in July 2020. 2020 Super Formula Championship
The 2020 Japanese Super Formula Championship was the forty-eighth season of premier Japanese open-wheel motor racing, and the eighth under the moniker of Super Formula. Teams and drivers Team changes *Ryo Michigami's Drago Corse returns to the championship in partnership with ThreeBond. This marks the team's first appearance in the championship since 2016. * Team LeMans left the championship at the end of 2019. This means that 2020 was the first season since 1988 where Team LeMans was not represented. Their place was filled by KCMG and Cerumo Motorsport which both added one car each. Founded by former racing driver Paul Ip in 2007, KCMG has participated in a variety of championships across the world in touring car, sports car, and open-wheel racing. is a Japanese racing driver. Currently he is driving a Honda NSX GT3 Evo for Modulo Drago Corse in Super GT. He won the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship in 2000. He competed in the GT500 category of the Super GT series in 1995 and then from 1998 to 2013. He drove for Mugen from 1998 to 2002, for Dome from 2003 to 2009, and for Nakajima Racing from 2010 to 2013. Apart from 1995, he always drove for Honda teams, and became Honda's first champion in the series in 2000. He also won the Suzuka 1000 km three times; in 1999, 2003 and 2004. After his initial retirement, he formed the Drago Corse team, which competed in Super GT's GT500 class in 2015 and 2016 before withdrawing from the series. TCR Japan Touring Car Series
The TCR Japan Touring Car Series is a touring car racing series based in Japan, the first of its kind since Japanese Touring Car Championship folded in 1998. In an agreement between WSC Ltd and Japan TCR Management, the TCR Japan Series began in 2019. The competition takes advantage of the success of the class in the Super Taikyu Series and runs on the same weekends as the Super Formula, the most important single-seater category in Japan.
