2020 Strade Bianche Women
Race Strade Bianche (both the 2020 Strade Bianche, men's race and Strade Bianche Donne, the women's race) was originally scheduled for 7 March 2020 but was postponed to 1 August 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Route Starting and finishing in Siena, Italy, Strade Bianche is the second event of the 2020 UCI Women's World Tour. The route is identical to that of the 2018 Strade Bianche Women, previous years, containing of gravel roads spread over eight sectors, for a total distance of . Teams Eight UCI Women's WorldTeams and fourteen UCI Women's Continental Teams made up the twenty-two teams that competed in the race. 2020 UCI Women's World Tour
The 2020 UCI Women's World Tour was a competition that initially included twenty-one road cycling events throughout the 2020 women's cycling season. It was the fifth edition of the ranking system launched by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in 2016. The competition began with the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race Women on 1 February. The schedule was extensively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in two-thirds of the races on the calendar being either postponed or cancelled outright. As a result, the season was extended until 8 November, when the final stage of the Ceratizit Challenge by la Vuelta took place. Strade Bianche
The Strade Bianche is a road bicycle race in Tuscany, Central Italy, starting and finishing in Siena. First held in 2007, it is raced annually on the first or second Saturday of March. The name ''Strade Bianche'' (Italian for ''White Roads'') stems from the historic white gravel roads in the Crete Senesi, which are a defining feature of the race. One third of the total race distance is raced on dirt roads, covering 63 km of ''strade bianche'', spread over 11 sectors. Despite its short history, the Strade Bianche has quickly gained prestige, and instigated a renewed interest in road racing on gravel and dirt roads as a specific skill and discipline. The event is part of the UCI World Tour, cycling's highest level of professional road races. Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig (born 23 August 1995) is a Danish professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam .
