Kevin Lincoln (politician)
Kevin Lincoln (born 1980) is an American politician who was elected in 2021 as the mayor of Stockton, California. Biography Kevin Jeffery Lincoln was born 28 October 1980, in San Joaquin County, and raised in Stockton. His mother was of Mexican Americans, Mexican descent and his father was African American. In 2001, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served on Air Force One during the administration of George W. Bush. He returned to California, and worked in Silicon Valley, for AlliedBarton in 2005-2008, Securitas AB in 2008-2009, and AlliedBarton again in 2009-2013. He then returned to Stockton and became executive pastor of LifeSong Church. Michael Tubbs
Michael Derrick Tubbs (born August 2, 1990) is an American politician who is currently serving as a special adviser for economic mobility and opportunity for Governor Gavin Newsom. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as the 79th mayor of Stockton, California from 2017 to 2021, and as a member of the Stockton City Council from the 6th District from 2013 until 2017. Tubbs was elected mayor in 2016, becoming the youngest mayor in Stockton's history and its first African-American mayor. In 2020, he lost reelection to Kevin Lincoln. Early life Tubbs was born in south Stockton and grew up in poverty. His mother, Racole Dixon, was a teenager at the time of his birth, and his father, also named Michael Tubbs, is serving a third strike life sentence in prison for kidnapping, drug possession, and robbery. 2020 California Elections
The California state elections in 2020 were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Unlike previous election cycles, the primary elections were held on Super Tuesday, March 3, 2020. In addition to the U.S. presidential race, California voters elected all of California's seats to the House of Representatives, all of the seats of the State Assembly, and all odd-numbered seats of the State Senate. Neither of the state's two U.S. Senate seats were up for election in 2020. Pursuant to Proposition 14 passed in 2010, California uses a nonpartisan blanket primary for almost all races, with the presidential primary races being the notable exception. Under the nonpartisan blanket primary system, all the candidates for the same elected office, regardless of respective political party, run against each other at once during the primary.
