2020 Seoul Dynasty Season
The 2020 Seoul Dynasty season was the third season of the Seoul Dynasty's existence in the Overwatch League. The Dynasty planned to hold two homestand weekends in the 2020 season at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all homestand events were cancelled. Preceding offseason Organizational changes In October 2019, head coach Kim "KDG" Dong-gun's contract expired, and he did not re-sign with the team. Later that month, Seoul promoted assistant coach Park "changoon" Chang-geun to head coach and brought up Mun "MMA" Seong-won from Gen.G Esports as an assistant coach. The team released assistant coach Lee "WhyNot" Ju-hyeop in early November. On November 8, Seoul signed former Washington Justice head coach Kim "WizardHyeong" Hyeong-seok as a strategic coach. 2020 Overwatch League Season
The 2020 Overwatch League season is the third season of the Overwatch League (OWL), a professional esports league for the video game ''Overwatch''. The regular season began on February 8, 2020, and concluded on August 23. It was the first season that the league implemented a city-based, home-and-away format, with teams traveling between the global home venues to play regular season matches, making the OWL the first major esports league to feature such a format. However, this format was abandoned on March 31 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and all matches were thereafter played online, with the league introducing three midseason tournaments. An expanded 20-team postseason began on September 3. The Grand Finals bracket began on October 8, with the Grand Finals occurring on October 10. Kim "Fleta" Byung-sun
Kim Byung-sun (, born September 2, 1999), better known by his online alias Fleta, is a South Korean former professional ''Overwatch'' player. He began his esports career with Flash Lux and had a brief stint playing for Lunatic-Hai. Kim signed with the Seoul Dynasty of the Overwatch League (OWL) in its inaugural season. After two years with the Dynasty, he signed with the Shanghai Dragons. In the middle of the 2023, Kim transitioned to a coaching role. Kim is known for his extreme flexibility to play as nearly any hero at a high level. Since the inception of the OWL, Kim has been selected to play in every All-Star Game, was awarded with a Role Star commendation in 2020, was named the 2020 Overwatch League Most Valuable Player, and won the 2021 Grand Finals with the Dragons. Overwatch Contenders (OWC) is an international esports league for the video game ''Overwatch'' that is organized by Blizzard Entertainment. The series acts as the development league for aspiring Overwatch League (OWL) professionals. Founded in 2017, Contenders was created in part to consolidate existing regional tournaments into a structure to support the Overwatch League, including the Overwatch Apex tournament, Overwatch Premier Series, and Overwatch Pacific Championship. Park Joon-yeong (, born November 19, 1999), better known by his online alias Profit, is a professional South Korean ''Overwatch'' player for the Seoul Dynasty of the Overwatch League (OWL). Prior to the OWL's inception, he played for GC Busan, winning OGN APEX Season 4 was named the APEX Finals most valuable player. In the Overwatch League, Park signed with the London Spitfire of the OWL in its inaugural season. COVID-19 Pandemic In South Korea
The COVID-19 pandemic in South Korea is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). The first case in South Korea was announced on 20 January 2020. The number of confirmed cases increased on 19 February by 20, and on 20 February by 58 or 70, giving a total of 346 confirmed cases on 21 February 2020, according to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA), with the sudden jump mostly attributed to "Patient 31" who participated in a gathering at a Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony church in Daegu. The Vancouver Titans are a professional ''Overwatch'' esports team based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Titans compete in the Overwatch League (OWL) as a member of the league's West region. Ryu Je-hong (Hangul: 류제홍, born September 5, 1991), better known mononymously as ryujehong, is a South Korean former professional esports player, best known for his career as an ''Overwatch'' player. During his ''Overwatch'' career, he played for the Seoul Dynasty and Vancouver Titans in the Overwatch League (OWL), and prior to the OWL's inception, he played for Lunatic-Hai in Overwatch Apex.
