2020 Santiago EPrix
The 2020 Santiago ePrix (formally the 2020 Antofagasta Minerals Santiago E-Prix) was a Formula E electric car race held at the Parque O'Higgins Circuit in the Parque O'Higgins of Santiago, Chile on 18 January 2020. It served as the third round of the 2019–20 Formula E season and was the third annual edition of the event. The race was won by Maximilian Günther, driving for BMW i Andretti Motorsport, who started from 2nd on the grid, and became the youngest ever Formula E race winner, with António Félix da Costa coming in second, while pole-sitter Mitch Evans finished the race third. Finishing in 6th overall was sufficient to elevate Stoffel Vandoorne to the top the Drivers' Championship standings with 38, after the then-championship leader, Alexander Sims retired from the race with collision damage, demoting him to second, with 35 points. Formula E
Formula E, officially the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, is a single-seater motorsport championship for electric cars. The series was conceived in 2011 in Paris by FIA president Jean Todt and Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag, who is also the current chairman of Formula E Holdings. The inaugural championship race was held in Beijing in September 2014. Since 2020, the series has FIA world championship status. The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. Envision Virgin Racing
The Envision Racing Formula E Team is a British motor racing team based at Silverstone Park and majority-owned by Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Envision Energy that competes in Formula E. Currently, the two drivers are Nick Cassidy and Sébastien Buemi. History Virgin was one of the first teams to enter Formula E, its entry was officially confirmed in December 2013. The Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team was a German racing team that competed in Formula E. The team made its debut at the 2019 Diriyah ePrix as part of the 2019–20 season, and Mercedes concluded their involvement with the team at the end of the 2021–22 Formula E World Championship. The team was taken over by McLaren and will return under the new ownership from the 2022–23 season. Lucas Di Grassi
Lucas Tucci di Grassi (born 11 August 1984) is a Brazilian professional racing driver who competes in the FIA Formula E World Championship for Mahindra Racing. He became the FIA Formula E Champion in 2016–2017, achieved three overall podiums at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and won the Macau Grand Prix in 2005. Born in São Paulo, di Grassi began racing karts at the age of ten, and achieved early success in the regional and later national kart series. He progressed to car racing in 2002 and was the runner up in the Formula Renault 2.0 Brazil and Formula 3 Sudamericana championships. Di Grassi took two consecutive victories in the 2004 British Formula Three Championship and progressed to the Euro Series the following year which saw him clinch a solitary race victory and was the winner of the non-championship Macau Grand Prix. Sam Jamie Bird (born 9 January 1987) is a British professional racing driver who currently drives for Jaguar TCS Racing in the FIA Formula E World Championship. Career Formula BMW Bird made his name in single seater racing in the Formula BMW category, coming fourteenth overall in his debut season and second in the rookie cup. He came runner up in 2005, which was only his second season in the category and also came fourth in the Formula BMW world final, the race itself was won by German Marco Holzer. Alexander Sims (racing Driver)
Alexander Sims (born 15 March 1988, in London) is a British professional racing driver, currently competing in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship for Mahindra Racing. Previously Sims has driven for BMW i Andretti Motorsport for two years, winning one race in Saudi Arabia. Sims was the winner of the 2008 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award for promising young British drivers. Career Karting Sims' kart racing career started in 1998 when he started competing in club competitions. Stoffel Vandoorne (born 26 March 1992) is a Belgian professional racing driver who is currently racing for Dragon Racing in Formula E. He had previously competed in Formula One for McLaren from 2016 to 2018. He is currently a test driver of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 and McLaren team.
