2020 SaarLorLux Open
The 2020 SaarLorLux Open was a badminton tournament which took place at Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany, from 27 October to 1 November 2020 and had a total prize of $90,000. Tournament The 2020 SaarLorLux Open was the only Super 100 tournament of the 2020 BWF World Tour and also part of the SaarLorLux Open championships, which had been held since 1988. This tournament was organized by German Badminton Association and sanctioned by the BWF. Venue This international tournament was held at Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Saarland, Germany. Saarlandhalle
Saarlandhalle is a 5,500-capacity multi-purpose indoor arena located in Saarbrücken, Germany. Originally opened in 1967 with funds from Saarland Sporttoto for sports competitions, it was later converted to multi-purpose indoor arena. The Ludwigsparkstadion is located near the hall. Saarlandhalle is also the first indoor arena in (West) Germany to be organized as a limited liability company. It has hosted concerts by many famous artists, including A-ha, AC/DC, Chris de Burgh, Depeche Mode, Bob Dylan, Boney M., Metallica, Pink Floyd, Sting and Uriah Heep, among others. These days larger productions refrain from visiting it, as technical requirements have generally extended to a degree which the Saarlandhalle cannot meet any longer with its given specs. Brian Yang (badminton)
Brian Yang (born 25 November 2001) is a Canadian badminton player. He was an integral part of the Team Alpha that won the mixed team relay gold at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Career In 2016, he won three gold medals at the U–19 Pan Am Junior Championships, winning the boys' doubles, mixed doubles, and team events. Yang won his first senior international title at 2017 Suriname International in the men's singles. In July, he won the boys' singles and mixed doubles titles at the Pan Am Junior Championships, while the Canada team captured the silver medal. Yang represented Canada in the 2018 Commonwealth Games and Thomas Cup. At the El Salvador International, he won two titles in the men's singles and mixed doubles. Toby Penty
Toby Penty (born 12 August 1992) is a retired English badminton player. He started playing badminton at aged 9, and won U-19 English National Championships in 2011. In 2010, he won junior titles in the Netherlands and Switzerland. In 2017, he won the Swedish International tournament in the men's singles event. Penty competed at the 2019 European Games, 2020 Olympic Games and at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Penty announced his retirement on 6 September 2022. Brice Leverdez (born 9 April 1986) is a French badminton player. He was a champion at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, won a silver medal at the 2015 European Games, and a bronze medal at the 2018 European Championships. Career Leverdez started playing badminton at aged 12, and continued after that at the club, then in 2008, he joined France national badminton team. Mark Caljouw
Mark Caljouw (born 25 January 1995) is a Dutch badminton player. He started playing badminton aged eight, at BC Randstad in Rijswijk. Career Caljouw was selected to join the national team in 2008, and made a debut in international senior tournament in 2012. Caljouw competed at the 2013 European Junior Championships in Ankara, Turkey, winning a silver medal in the boys' singles event, and also a bronze medal in the mixed team event. He was selected by Badminton Europe to join the Player Development Plan "Future Stars". He has won gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event.
