2020 SANFL Grand Final
The 2020 South Australian National Football League (SANFL) grand final was an Australian rules football match played at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday, 18 October to determine the premiers for the 2020 SANFL season. The match was contested by North Adelaide and Woodville-West Torrens in the first grand final meeting between the two teams, although North Adelaide did play West Torrens in the 1949 SANFL Grand Final. Woodville-West Torrens won the grand final, defeating North Adelaide by 39 points, and claiming their fourth premiership and their first since 2011. 2020 SANFL Season
The 2020 South Australian National Football League season (officially the SANFL Statewide Super League) was the 141st season of the South Australian National Football League (SANFL), the highest-level Australian rules football competition in South Australia. The season was originally scheduled to run from April 2020 until September 2020; however its commencement was delayed to June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of clubs participating in the season was reduced to eight, as and were barred from fielding their reserves teams by the Australian Football League. Jordan Foote (born 2 January 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the Sydney Swans with their third selection and fifty-second overall in the 2015 rookie draft. He made his debut in the six point win against in round 18, 2016 at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Foote was delisted at the end of the 2018 AFL season. West Torrens Football Club
West Torrens Football Club was an Australian rules football club that competed in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL) from 1897 to 1990. In 1991, the club merged with neighbouring Woodville Football Club to form the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. With the proposed introduction of representative Districts for clubs in the SAFA the Native Club in 1896 derived its name from Electoral district of West Torrens and based itself in the western suburbs of Adelaide, around the western reaches of the River Torrens. Woodville-West Torrens Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). It was formed in 1990 from an amalgamation of the neighbouring Woodville and West Torrens football clubs and played its inaugural game in 1991. Since 1993, the Eagles have played most of their home games at Woodville's home ground of Woodville Oval, having previously used Football Park. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind").
