The 2020 European Championship was a planned international rugby league tournament that would have taken place in October and November 2020. Six teams were to have competed in the 2020 edition, with and joining the four teams that participated in 2018. The teams were split into two pools of three, where the winners would have contested a final and the bottom teams would have been relegated to the 2022 European Championship B. The tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Background A restructured European Championship system was announced in January 2020, with the top tier to be contested by six teams across two pools. 2018 Rugby League European Championship
The 2018 European Championship is an international rugby league tournament that took place in October and November 2018. Four teams competed in the tournament, which forms the top tier of European international competition, and the first stage of qualification for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. The winner and runner-up will automatically qualify for the World Cup, while the third and fourth placed teams will enter the European play-off qualifying competition. Serbia National Rugby League Team
The Serbia national rugby league team represents Serbia in the sport of rugby league football. They have competed in international competition since 2003 under the administration of the Serbian Rugby League. They are coached by Englishman Darren Fisher, and captained by Stevan Stevanović. History 1950s–1960s Rugby League was first played in Serbia in 1953 when it was introduced by Dragan Marsicevic, secretary of the Yugoslav Sport Association. Two French teams toured later that year, and in 1954 the clubs Partizan and Radnički were formed. These clubs played their first match on 26 April 1954. In 1961 a Yugoslav Rugby League team played its only game against a French Select XIII team in Banja Luka. The French team won 13–0. Serbia Women's National Rugby League Team
The Serbia women's national rugby league team is organised by the Serbian Rugby League and represents Serbia in international rugby league. Serbia first played full international Test Matches in 2019. Their inaugural match was against Italy in Italy in June 2019. Serbia then hosted a two Test Match tour by Canada in September 2019. 2021 Rugby League World Cup – Men’s Tournament
The 2021 Men's Rugby League World Cup, was the 16th Rugby League World Cup, and one of three major tournaments of the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. The tournament was held in England from 15 October 2022 to 19 November 2022. Originally scheduled to take place in October 2020, the tournament was postponed in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
