2020 Quebec Scotties Tournament Of Hearts
The 2020 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship of Quebec, was held from January 20 to 26 at the Arèna de Salaberry in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The winning Noémie Verreault rink represented Quebec at the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and finished with a 0–7 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2020 Quebec Tankard, the provincial men's curling championship. Salaberry-de-Valleyfield
Salaberry-de-Valleyfield is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada, in the Regional County Municipality of Beauharnois-Salaberry. The population as of 2019 was 42,410. Situated on Grande-Île, an island in the Saint Lawrence River, it is bordered at its western end by Lake Saint Francis, with the Saint Lawrence to the north and the Beauharnois Canal to its south. The Port of Valleyfield is on the canal. The historic downtown is a major touristic centre for the area. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Émilie Desjardins (born May 20, 1999) is a Canadian curler from Chicoutimi, Quebec. She currently competes in the mixed doubles discipline on the World Curling Tour with her father, Robert as Team "Hôtel Le Montagnais". Career Desjardins has found most of her curling success in mixed doubles. Having only begun curling at around 2014, she and her father Robert, 2013 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials champion, won the Quebec Mixed Doubles Championship in 2016. This qualified the pair to represent Quebec at the 2016 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Trials. There, they just missed the playoffs, posting a 4–3 record. Brenda Nicholls (born August 9, 1972 in Quebec City, Quebec) is a Canadian curler. Career 1991–1999 Nicholls made her national curling debut at the 1991 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. She was playing fourth stones for skip Katie Arsenault. The team would finish 6-5 in round robin play. Nicholls would not return to a national championship until 1996, when her team skipped by Stephanie Marchand, earned the right to represent Quebec at the 1996 Scott Tournament of Hearts. The winning Alek Bédard rink represented Quebec at the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario and finished with a 1–6 record. The event was held in conjunction with the 2020 Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Quebec's provincial women's curling championship.
