2020 Qatar Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2020 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix was the first round of the 2020 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It was held at the Losail International Circuit in Doha on 8 March 2020. The MotoGP race was cancelled after Qatari quarantine measures were put in place as a response to the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Because Moto2 and Moto3 teams were testing at Losail the previous week, teams were staying over in Qatar for that race and officials allowed them to participate in all scheduled events. Losail International Circuit
The Losail International Circuit or Lusail International Circuit (Arabic: حلبة لوسيل الدولية) is a motor racing circuit located just outside the city of Lusail, north of Doha, Qatar. Built in just under a year by 1,000 workers at the cost of million, the track opened in 2004, named Losail International Circuit, to the inaugural 2004 Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix, won by Sete Gibernau. The track is in length, with a main straight of . It is surrounded by artificial grass to stop the sand encroaching on the track. In 2007, Lusail added permanent outdoor lighting for night races. At the time, the lighting of the Lusail Circuit by Musco Lighting was the largest permanent venue sports lighting project in the world, a distinction that now belongs to another Persian Gulf motorsport venue, Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Remy Christopher Gardner (born 24 February 1998) is an Australian motorcycle racer, best known for winning the 2021 Moto2 World Championship with Red Bull KTM Ajo. He is the son of 1987 premier class world champion, Wayne Gardner. Career Moto3 World Championship Gardner made his first three appearances in the Moto3 World Championship in 2014, twice as replacement for injured riders and once as a wild card entry, scoring one point in Malaysia. Jake Curtis Dixon (born 15 January 1996) is a British Grand Prix motorcycle racer competing for GasGas Aspar Team in the 2022 Moto2 World Championship. Dixon is best known for finishing runner-up in the 2018 British Superbike Championship, and being the youngest to qualify for the championship showdown in 2017. Thomas Lüthi (born 6 September 1986) is a Swiss sporting director at Prüstel GP, and former Grand Prix motorcycle racer. He spent 19 years in Grand Prix world championships, becoming one of only six riders to reach 300 race starts, spending much of his career with the Interwetten Paddock team, with who he became the 2005 season's 125cc world champion.
