The 2020 Orange County SC season was the club's tenth season of existence, and their tenth consecutive season in the United Soccer League Championship, the second tier of American soccer. Orange County were also scheduled to compete in the U.S. Open Cup. Orange County Soccer Club is an American soccer team based in the Orange County, California city of Irvine. Founded in 2010 as the Los Angeles Blues, the team currently plays in the second tier USL Championship. The team plays its home games at Championship Soccer Stadium, located inside Great Park in Irvine. History The then Los Angeles Blues were founded by Iranian-American businessman Ali Mansouri in 1998 and announced as a USL Pro expansion franchise on December 7, 2010. Richard Chaplow
Richard David Chaplow (born 2 February 1985) is an English retired professional footballer who is currently the head coach of USL Championship side Orange County SC. He is a former England under-21 international. Club career Burnley Chaplow joined Burnley at the age of eight, before earning a scholarship at the club in 2001 as part of the YTS Apprenticeships, turning down offers from Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City. In 2002–03, part of his season in the reserves was blighted by glandular fever, although he returned to action in January. After being included as an unused substitute against Preston North End on 8 April 2003, Chaplow made his Burnley debut, coming on as a second-half substitute, in 2–0 loss against Norwich City four days later on 12 April 2003. Nathan Morgan Smith (born October 18, 1994) is an American association football, soccer player. Career Smith played college soccer at the University of California, Los Angeles between 2013 and 2015. While at UCLA, Smith appeared for PSA Elite in 2014 and 2015. He opted to forgo his senior year with the Bruins, instead signing with LA Galaxy II of the United Soccer League.
