2020 Oklahoma Elections
Oklahoma elections in 2020 were held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Its primaries were held on June 30, 2020, with runoffs taking place on August 25. Its presidential primaries were an exception to this, occurring on March 3, 2020. In addition to the U.S. presidential race, Oklahoma voters will elect the Class II U.S. Senator from Oklahoma, 1 of 3 members of the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, all of its seats to the House of Representatives, 3 of 9 seats on the Oklahoma Supreme Court, 2 of 5 seats on the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals, 3 of 12 seats on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals, all of the seats of the Oklahoma House of Representatives and 25 of 48 seats in the Oklahoma State Senate. 2018 Oklahoma State Elections
The 2018 general election was held in the U.S. state of Oklahoma on November 6, 2018. All of Oklahoma's executive officers were up for election as well as the state's five seats in the United States House of Representatives, half of the 48 seats in the Oklahoma Senate and all 101 seats in the Oklahoma House, and five offices in each of Oklahoma's 77 counties. Voter turnout was 42.5% of the eligible population, a 12.6% increase over the 2014 midterms but still the third lowest in the nation. Due to Gary Johnson's results in the 2016 presidential election, the Oklahoma Libertarian Party had ballot status to run candidates in 2018. David Weigel (born September 26, 1981) is an American journalist. He works for ''Semafor''. Weigel previously covered politics for ''The Washington Post,'' ''Slate,'' and ''Bloomberg Politics'' and is a contributing editor for ''Reason'' magazine. Early years and background Weigel was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. Oklahoma Question 802, the Oklahoma Medicaid Expansion Initiative, was a 2020 ballot measure on the June 30 ballot (alongside primaries for various statewide offices) to expand Medicaid in the state of Oklahoma. Todd Hiett
Todd Hiett (born July 9, 1967) is an American rancher and Republican politician from Kellyville, Oklahoma. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from 1995 until 2007. During his final two years in office, Hiett served as the Speaker of the House. Hiett was the first Republican to hold that position in over eight decades. Once he completed the maximum twelve-year term (term limits are constitutionally mandated in Oklahoma), Hiett launched a campaign to succeed Mary Fallin as the Lieutenant Governor of Oklahoma.
