2020 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship
The 2020 Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship was the 126th staging of the Kilkenny Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Kilkenny County Board in 1887. The championship began on 29 August 2020 and ended on 27 September 2020. Ballyhale Shamrocks were the defending champions. Danesfort were relegated after suffering a 1–15 to 1–13 defeat by Graigue-Ballycallan in a playoff. On 27 September 2020, Ballyhale Shamrocks won the championship after a 5–19 to 1–10 defeat of Dicksboro in the final at UPMC Nowlan Park. It was their 18th championship title overall and their third title in succession. Richie Hogan
Richard Hogan (born 8 August 1988) is an Irish hurler who plays as a midfielder at senior level for the Kilkenny county team. Born in Waterford in 1988, Hogan is a native of Danesfort, County Kilkenny. Hogan first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St Kieran's College. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Kilkenny minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He joined the senior panel during the 2007 championship. Hogan soon became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won seven All-Ireland medals, seven Leinster medals and four National Hurling League medals. He has been an All-Ireland runner-up on two occasions. As a member of the Leinster inter-provincial team, Hogan has won one Railway Cup medal. Erin's Own Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in 1885 and since then has been the main sporting organization in the Castlecomer area in County Kilkenny, Ireland. Erin's Own fielded teams in 11 different grades of hurling and in 7 grades of gaelic football in 2006, and is currently undertaking major development at its new ground, Canon Kearns Park. With a membership of about 20 adults and about 100 youths the club is in the enviable position of having two properties, the first, The Prince Grounds, in the town, and the second, Canon Kearns Park, on the outskirts of the town, towards Kilkenny.
