2020 International Swimming League
The 2020 International Swimming League was the second edition of the International Swimming League, a professional swimming league, established in 2019. It comprised ten teams composed of both women and men. The league, due to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions, consisted of thirteen short course swimming meets which took place in the city of Budapest, Hungary. The US-based Cali Condors won the Grand Final, with Caeleb Dressel winning the season MVP award. Schedule The schedule consisted of ten regular-season meets, followed by two Semifinals and a Final Match in Budapest. International Swimming League
The International Swimming League (ISL) is an annual professional swimming league, established in 2019. It features a team-based competition format with fast-paced race sessions. In 2019, the regular season started in October and the Final Match was held in December. Athletes with a history of breaking anti-doping rules are banned from ISL. In March 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the ISL abruptly cancelled its fourth season and all competition in 2022. Toronto Titans is one of the two new teams for the professional International Swimming League 2020 season, announced in December 2019, taking the total number of teams in the league to ten. Marcin Cieślak is a Polish competitive swimming (sport), swimmer who specializes in butterfly. He currently represents the Cali Condors which is part of the International Swimming League. Joseph "Gunnar" Bentz (born January 3, 1996) is an American former competitive swimmer and Olympic gold medalist. Early life Bentz graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School in 2014. Career He is a four-time medalist (two gold, two bronze) at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships and a two-time medalist (one silver, one bronze) at the Pan American Games. Bentz competes for the University of Georgia with the Georgia Bulldogs swimming and diving team in American collegiate swimming. Bentz was the 2015 USA National Champion in the 400m Individual Medley. In June 2016, he qualified for the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Erika Brown (born August 27, 1998) is an American swimmer. She qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in the freestyle relay and individual 100m freestyle, placing 2nd in the 100m freestyle final at the US Olympic Team Trials. Career Brown attended William A. Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina. While in high school she was a four-time North Carolina state champion, winning twice in the 200 freestyle and 400 free relay events. Brown would attended college at the University of Tennessee. At Tennessee, Brown earned 21 All-America honors, which included a national championship in the 4x50 medley relay, and 23 Southeastern Conference medals. Haley Danita Anderson (born November 20, 1991) is an American competitive swimmer who is an Olympic silver medalist. She placed second in the 10-kilometer open water event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Personal Anderson's older sister, Alyssa, was a swimmer at Arizona.
