2020 HJK Season
The 2020 season is Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi's 112th competitive season. Season Events On 9 January, Harmeet Singh left HJK by mutual consent. On 11 January, HJK announced the signing of Rasmus Schüller on a two-year contract. On 29 January, HJK announced the signing of Jakob Tånnander on a one-year contract, with the option of another year, from Malmö, and Ivan Ostojić from Radnički Niš on a 1+1-year contract. On 3 February, HJK announced the signing of Papua New Guinea international forward David Browne on a one-year contract, with the option of an additional two years. On 3 March, HJK announced that Atomu Tanaka had returned to the club after two-years playing in Japan, signing on a contract until the end of July. On 10 March, HJK announced that youngster Jimi Tauriainen would leave the club to join Chelsea in the summer. Helsingin Jalkapalloklubi (), commonly known as HJK Helsinki, or simply as HJK, is a professional football club based in Helsinki, Finland. The club competes in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. Founded in 1907, the club has spent most of its history in the top tier of Finnish football. The club's home ground is the 10,770-seat Bolt Arena, where they have played since 2000. Generally considered as Finland's biggest club, HJK is the most successful Finnish club in terms of championship titles with 32. The club has also won 14 Finnish Cups and 5 Finnish League Cups. David Browne (footballer)
David Eric Browne (born 27 December 1995) is a Papua New Guinean professional footballer who plays as a forward or a midfielder for the Papua New Guinea national team. He is the first Papua New Guinean footballer to play professionally in Europe. Besides New Zealand, he has played in the Netherlands and Finland. Early career Around the age of 10, Browne began playing football as a goalkeeper. He began his football career in the Port Moresby suburb of Kaugere at the Living Light Academy. Roni Peiponen
Roni Peiponen (9 April 1997 – November/December 2022) was a Finnish professional footballer who played as a right-back. He retired in July 2020. Club career Molde In November 2015, Peiponen moved from HJK Helsinki to Norwegian side Molde FK on a three-and-a-half year contract. Pyry Petteri Hannola (born 21 October 2001) is a Finnish football player who plays as a midfielder for Finnish club SJK. Rovaniemen Palloseura (RoPS) is a football (soccer), football club founded in 1950 and based in Rovaniemi, Finland. Enoch Banza
Bile-Enoch Banza (born 4 February 2000) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as right winger for Ykkösliiga club KTP. Early life Born in Helsinki, Finland, Banza is of Congolese descent. His family had fled the war in Zaire (present-day Democratic Republic of the Congo), and moved to Finland: his father in 1991 and his mother and sister in 1995. Veikkausliiga (; sv, Tipsligan) is the premier division of Finnish football, the highest tier of the Finnish football league structure, comprising the top 12 clubs of the country. Its main sponsor is the Finnish national betting agency Veikkaus, hence the league's name.
