2020 Football Victoria Season
The 2020 season in Football Victoria refers to the competitions contested under the organisation of Football Victoria in 2020. All NPL and grassroots competitions were suspended due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, effective 18 March, and were further extended. The season was only able to restart in a limited way for juniors in regional areas from September 24, whereas no football activities were able to take place in Metropolitan Melbourne. Preliminary plans for the resumption of competitions for the 2021 season were released in October 2020, confirming that the current season had effectively ended. Football Victoria is the state governing body for soccer in Victoria, Australia. It is affiliated with Football Australia, the sport's national governing body. Dandenong City SC
Dandenong City Soccer Club, formerly known as Chelsea Hajduk, is an Australian soccer club based in the South-East region of Melbourne, Victoria. The club's home is at Frank Holohan Soccer Complex in the suburb of Endeavour Hills. They compete in the NPL Victoria, which is the top tier of football in Victoria, having been promoted for the first time for the 2019 season. The club was founded in 1981 as Parkmore Hajduk, then was renamed Chelsea Hajduk by the Croatian Australian community in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. 2020 FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds
The 2020 FFA Cup preliminary rounds were the qualifying competition initially meant to decide 22 of the 32 teams to take part in the 2020 FFA Cup. Some preliminary matches were held in February and March, prior to the competition being suspended in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. The competition was cancelled on 3 July. One of the member federation-based competitions resumed from July (for the Lakoseljac Cup in Tasmania). 2020 FFA Cup
The 2020 FFA Cup was a planned season of the FFA Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. Some preliminary matches were held in February and March, prior to the competition being suspended in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. The competition was cancelled on 3 July. Teams A total of 32 teams were originally scheduled to participate in the 2020 FFA Cup competition proper, ten of which are from the A-League, one the 2019 National Premier Leagues Champion (Wollongong Wolves), and the remaining 21 teams from FFA member federations, as determined by the qualifying rounds. Dockerty Cup
The Dockerty Cup is an annual association football knock-out competition open to all Victorian clubs across the Victorian football league system. The tournament is named after the former president of Football Federation Victoria Harry Dockerty. Since 2014 the Cup is also a qualifying competition for the FFA Cup, now known as the Australia Cup, where the four finalists enter the competition proper at the round of 32. The Dockerty cup winner also qualifies to the next season's FV Community Shield, in a one-off match against the current NPL Victoria champion. The National Premier Leagues Victoria Women, known commonly as the NPL Victoria Women's or NPLV Women's, is a professional women's association football league in Victoria, Australia.
