2020 FFSA Season
The 2020 Football South Australia season was the 114th season of soccer in South Australia, and the eighth under the National Premier Leagues format. All NPL and grassroots competitions were suspended for one month due to the impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, effective 18 March to 14 April, and subsequently extended. Competitions were able to be resumed effective 25 June, subject to conditions. The South Australian season was temporarily suspended in mid-November for a minimum of two weeks, with the NPLSA in the middle of its finals series. The Football South Australia (FSA), formerly known as Football Federation South Australia (FFSA), is the governing body of football (also known as soccer) in South Australia, established in 2006. Description Football South Australia are affiliated with Football Australia, the sport's national governing body. The FSA run the highest level of football in the state of South Australia, the semi-professional National Premier Leagues South Australia, below this they run State League 1 and State League 2 which are level 2 and 3 on the state's football league pyramid, and levels 3 and 4 on the national pyramid. The club was known historically as Juventus — the original name given to the club by its founders in Adelaide's Italian community. South Adelaide Panthers Football Club are a soccer club from the southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. They play in the National Premier League NPL South Australia, with a home ground at the O'Sullivan Beach Sports Complex, also known as Panther Park. Panthers also field senior female teams in the Women's State League. Sturt Lions FC
Sturt Lions Soccer Club is an Australian professional football club in Adelaide, South Australia. Nicknamed the Lions, Sturt are associated with FFSA, and they currently play in the NPL South Australia. The league is a first tier-league in South Australia and second-tier nationally. The club, while based in the suburbs in and around the city of Mitcham, they currently play their senior home games at Adelaide Shores Football Centre in West Beach. The club has one of the largest junior programs in South Australia. The NPL State League 1 South Australia is the second tier state-level association football, football (soccer) competition in South Australia, ranked third tier in the Australian soccer league system, national pyramid. The league are part of the National Premier Leagues (NPL) structure implemented by Football Federation Australia in 2012. It is conducted by the Football Federation South Australia, Football Federation South Australia (FFSA), the state's governing body. After the reforming of the South Australian football league structure in 2012, the league increased its participants from 10 clubs to 16.
