2020 European Women's Handball Championship Squads
The following is a list of squads for each nation competing at the 2020 European Women's Handball Championship. Each squad consisted of 16 players, with a maximum of six players who could be replaced during the tournament. However, in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic and the potential risk of several players from the same team testing positive, there was no limit to the number of replacements for players testing positive. ''Age, caps and goals correct as of 3 December 2020.'' Group A Denmark The squad was announced on 10 November 2020. On 26 November, Laura Damgaard replaced Helena Elver in the squad due to a serious knee injury. On 28 November, Rikke Poulsen was added to the squad as a back-up. 2020 European Women's Handball Championship
The 2020 European Women's Handball Championship was held from 3 to 20 December 2020. The games were played in Herning and Kolding, Denmark. Originally, this tournament would be held with 2 host countries: Norway and Denmark. However, lacking some time for the beginning, Norway renounced the right to seat, respecting the local legislation about the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was also be one of the qualification events for the 2021 World Women's Handball Championship. It was also be played behind closed doors due to the pandemic. Norway won the tournament for the eighth time after defeating France in the final. Croatia won the third place game to capture their first ever medal. Line Haugsted
Line Haugsted (born 11 November 1994) is a Danish handball player for Győri ETO KC and the Danish national team. On 30 January 2022, it was announced that Haugsted had signed a 2-year contract with Győri ETO KC. She made her debut on the Danish national team on 28 November 2014, against Norway. She participated at the 2016 European Women's Handball Championship in Sweden. Mie Højlund
Mie Enggrob Højlund (born 24 October 1997) is a Danish handball player for Odense Håndbold and the Danish national team. Højlund can play both right back and left back, but has said publicly, that she prefers the left back position. Club Career Højlund played on the Randers HK youth teams, and in 2014 she became a part of the senior team. She scored a total of 30 goals in her debut season. In the first years she was the back up to national team player Jane Schumacher. In the fall of 2016 she became the first choice on the playmaker position. That season Randers HK won the Danish Women's Handball Cup with a surprise win over FC Midtjylland Håndbold. She ended the season as the second top scorer in the league with 89 goals. Metz Handball is a French handball club from Metz, France.
