2020 European Lacrosse Championship
The 2020 European Lacrosse Championship will be the 11th edition of the European Lacrosse competition for men's national teams. It will be played in Wrocław, Poland. The championship was initially dated from 23 July to 1 August 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was postponed to be played from 21 to 31 July 2021. On 12 March, 2021, the competition was once again postponed, with no future date announced. This will be the first European Championship that will serve as qualifier for the next edition of the World Lacrosse Championship. Teams The 29 participating national teams were confirmed on 13 December 2019. 2022 World Lacrosse Championship
The 2023 World Lacrosse Championship will be the 14th edition of the international men's field lacrosse tournament for national teams organized by World Lacrosse. Initially scheduled for 2022, it was postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament will be held in San Diego, California. The tournament will be limited to 30 teams for the first time through regional qualifying tournaments. Hosting The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL), since renamed World Lacrosse, gave its member associations until the end of September 2016 to formally make its intent to bid known to the international sports body and March 2017 to submit their bid. World Lacrosse Championship
The World Lacrosse Championship (WLC) is the international men's field lacrosse championship organized by World Lacrosse that occurs every four years. The WLC began before any international lacrosse organization had been formed. It started as a four-team invitational tournament which coincided with Canada's centennial lacrosse celebration in 1967. Canada, the United States, Australia, and England participated. Seven years later, Australia celebrated its lacrosse centenary and another four-team invitational tournament was held between the same countries. After that tournament in 1974, the first international governing body for men's lacrosse was formed, the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF). The 2018 World Lacrosse Championship was the 13th edition of the international men's field lacrosse tournament for national teams organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). As many as 50 countries were expected to compete in the tournament; with the official total coming in at 46, which made the 2018 WLC the largest of all-time.
