The 2020 Europe Top 16 Cup (also referred to as the 2020 CCB Europe Top 16 Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a table tennis competition held from 8 to 9 February in Montreux, Switzerland, organised under the authority of the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU). It was the 49th edition of the event, and the fifth time that it had been held in Switzerland. Medallists Men's singles Seeding Players were seeded according to the European ranking for January 2020. Montreux (, , ; frp, Montrolx) is a Swiss municipality and town on the shoreline of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps. Liam Benjamin Pitchford (born 12 July 1993) is a British table tennis player. He is sponsored by Victas. Career Pitchford began playing table tennis when he was eight years old. He won the British Home Countries Championship in 2009, and two Commonwealth Games medals in 2010 (Silver in Team and Bronze in Doubles). In the summer of 2011, he transferred to German club TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen in the top division, the Bundesliga, having played for second division club FC Tegernheim the previous season. Matilda Ekholm (; born 15 June 1982 in Linköping) is a Swedish table tennis player. She has won four medals in European Table Tennis Championships. Han Ying (born 29 April 1983 as ) is a female table tennis player representing Germany since 2010. A specialist in defensive chopping, a style in decline ever since the mid-1990s, she is one of a few surviving defensive players active at the ITTF World Tour level as of 2021. Kristian Gunnar Karlsson (; born 6 August 1991) is a Swedish professional table tennis player. Career Born in Trollhättan, Västra Götaland, Karlsson started to play table tennis in his hometown club at the age of 8. He remained in Trollhättan until he was 16, subsequently he moved away from home to go to high school. During his high school years Karlsson had 10 training sessions a week.
