2020 Drake Bulldogs Football Team
The 2020 Drake Bulldogs football team represented Drake University as a member of the Pioneer Football League (PFL) during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The season was suspended in the fall of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and played in the spring of 2021. Led by second-year head coach Todd Stepsis, the Bulldogs compiled an overall record of 2–3 with an identical mark in conference play, placing fifth in the PFL. The team played its home games at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Schedule Drake had a game scheduled against on September 3, which was later canceled before the start of the 2020 season. A replacement game, scheduled for the same day, was announced against on July 14. Pioneer Football League
The Pioneer Football League (PFL) is a collegiate athletic conference which operates in the United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as a football-only conference. It has member schools that range from New York, North Carolina, and Florida in the east to California in the west. It is headquartered in St. Louis, in the same complex that also contains the offices of the Missouri Valley Conference and Missouri Valley Football Conference. Unlike most other Division I FCS conferences, the Pioneer League consists of institutions that choose not to award athletic scholarships ("grants-in-aid") to football players. 2020 Presbyterian Blue Hose Football Team
The 2020 Presbyterian Blue Hose football team represented Presbyterian College in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I FCS football season as a technical FCS independent but in a scheduling agreement with the Pioneer Football League (PFL), which it fully joined in July 2021. Under the agreement, Presbyterian was not eligible for the PFL title, but its players and coaches were eligible for individual PFL honors. They were led by tenth-year head coach Tommy Spangler, in his second stint as Presbyterian's head coach, as he coached the Blue Hose from 2001 to 2006 and resumed in 2017. Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl is a multi-purpose stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It opened in 1928 and is home to the Butler University Bulldogs football and soccer teams. Todd Stepsis
Todd Stepsis is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Drake University, a position he has held since the 2019 season. Coaching career Following his career at Ashland University, Stepsis began his coaching career at Otterbein University in 1999. He then spent eight seasons at Capital University and six seasons as defensive coordinator at Saginaw Valley State University. He joined the staff at Drake in the same position for the 2014 season. Following five seasons in this role, Stepsis was promoted to head coach following the resignation of Rick Fox following the 2018 season. He was previously the defensive coordinator.
