2020 Davis Cup Qualifying Round
The 2020 Davis Cup Qualifying Round was held on 6–7 March. The twelve winners of this round would qualify for the 2020 Davis Cup Finals while the twelve losers would qualify for the 2020 Davis Cup World Group I. Teams Twenty-four teams played for twelve spots in the Finals, in series decided on a home and away basis. Twenty-six eligible teams are: * 14 teams ranked 5th-18th in the Finals. * 12 winning teams from their Group I zone. Two wild cards for the Finals were selected from these 26 nations. and were announced prior to the Qualifiers draw. The remaining 24 nations will compete for 12 spots in the Finals. The 12 winning teams from the play-offs would play at the Finals and the 12 losing teams would play at the World Group I. 2020 Davis Cup Finals
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, was the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2021. It was held on indoor hard courts at three venues in Innsbruck, Austria, Madrid, Spain and Turin, Italy. The 2020 edition was originally scheduled to take place from 23 until 29 November 2020. However, on 26 June 2020, ITF announced that 2020 Finals would take place from 22 until 28 November 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic and be named 2021 Davis Cup Finals. On 18 January 2021, ITF announced that the Finals would be expanded over 11 days, from 25 November to 5 December 2021. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles. Spain were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the round robin stage. Leander Paes
Leander Adrian Paes ( ; born 17 June 1973) is an Indian former professional tennis player. He is regarded as one of the greatest doubles tennis players ever. He holds the record for the most doubles wins in the Davis Cup. Paes won eight men's doubles and ten mixed doubles Grand Slam titles. Rohan Bopanna
Rohan Bopanna ( ; born 4 March 1980) is an Indian professional tennis player. His tennis singles, singles career-high ranking was world No. 213 in 2007 and his career-high ranking in doubles was world No. 3 on 22 July 2013. He has been a member of the Indian Davis Cup team since 2002. Bopanna partnered with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in doubles in 2007. Franko Škugor
Franko Škugor (; born 20 September 1987) is a Croatian professional tennis player who mainly competes on the ATP Challenger Tour and specialized in doubles. He has a career-high ATP doubles ranking of World No. 17 achieved on 22 April 2019. He is best known for his very powerful serve up to 230 km/h (143 mph) along with very strong groundstrokes. Along with doubles partner and fellow Croatian Nikola Mektić, he reached the doubles semifinals at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships and with Brit Dominic Inglot the semifinals of the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. Mate Pavić
Mate Pavić (; born 4 July 1993) is a Croatian professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He is a five-time Grand Slam champion, having won three titles in men's doubles: the 2018 Australian Open with Oliver Marach, the 2020 US Open with Bruno Soares, and the 2021 Wimbledon Championships with Nikola Mektić. Ramanathan Ramkumar (born 8 November 1994) is an Indian professional tennis player. Kungliga tennishallen ( English: Royal Tennis Hall) is a tennis venue at Lidingövägen 75 in Stockholm, Sweden. The stadium was built in October 1943 and has a capacity of 5,000.
