2020 DFB-Pokal Final
The 2020 DFB-Pokal Final decided the winner of the 2019–20 DFB-Pokal, the 77th season of the annual German football cup competition. The match was played on 4 July 2020 at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Though originally scheduled for 23 May 2020, the German Football Association postponed the final on 24 April due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany. On 11 May 2020, the DFB Executive Committee approved a resumption of the competition, with the final scheduled for 4 July, subject to political approval, using a hygiene concept similar to that implemented by the DFL in the Bundesliga and 2. 2019–20 DFB-Pokal
The 2019–20 DFB-Pokal was the 77th season of the annual German football cup competition. Sixty-four teams participated in the competition, including all teams from the previous year's Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. The 2020 DFL-Supercup was the eleventh edition of the German super cup under the name DFL-Supercup, an annual football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal competitions. The match was played on 30 September 2020. The match is usually played in July or August prior to the start of the Bundesliga. 2009 DFB-Pokal Final
The final of the 2008–09 DFB-Pokal season was held on 30 May 2009 at the Olympiastadion, Berlin. Werder Bremen won with a 58th-minute goal from midfielder Mesut Özil. This was the club's sixth DFB-Pokal in its history, after victories in 1961, 1991, 1994, 1999 and 2004. List Of DFB-Pokal Finals
The list of DFB-Pokal finals contains all of the finals of the DFB-Pokal since the introduction of the competition as the ''Tschammerpokal'' in 1935. The finals of the DFB-Pokal usually take place at the end of each German football season. In some cases, like 1970 and 1974, the finals were held at the beginning of the following season due to the FIFA World Cup. The exact date has changed repeatedly over the years. Until 1984, the final was held at various venues, most often in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Hanover, or Düsseldorf. Since 1985, the Olympiastadion in Berlin has been the fixed venue for the finals. The term "behind closed doors" is used in several sports, to describe matches played where spectators are not allowed in the stadium to watch. The reasons for this may include punishment for a team found guilty of a certain act in the past, stadium safety problems, public health concerns, or to prevent potentially dangerous clashes between rival supporters.
