2020 Cleveland Indians Season
The 2020 Cleveland Indians season was the 120th season for the franchise. It was the eighth season under the leadership of manager Terry Francona and fifth under general manager Mike Chernoff. The Indians play their home games at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. They made the playoffs after missing them in 2019 and improved upon their previous year's record of 93–69. They were swept out of the playoffs, losing both games of the Wild Card Series to the New York Yankees, extending their postseason losing streak to eight games. On March 12, 2020, MLB announced that because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the regular season would be delayed by at least two weeks in addition to the remainder of spring training being cancelled. American League Central
The American League Central is one of Major League Baseball's six divisions. This division was formed in the realignment of 1994 by moving three teams from the American League West and two teams from the American League East. Its teams are all located in the Midwestern United States. Along with the National League East, the AL Central is one of two divisions in the Major Leagues in which all of its members have won a World Series title. The 2019 Cleveland Indians season was the 119th season for the franchise. It was the seventh season under the leadership of manager Terry Francona and fourth under general manager Mike Chernoff. The Indians played their home games at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. In April 2019, the Indians extended Francona's contract for two more years. Although they improved upon their 91–71 campaign from the previous season, they failed to win the American League Central (due to the Minnesota Twins going 101–61) and failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Greg Holland
Gregory Scott Holland (born November 20, 1985) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals, Colorado Rockies, St. Louis Cardinals, Washington Nationals, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Texas Rangers. Holland is a three-time All-Star. After pitching for Western Carolina University, Holland made his MLB debut with the Royals in 2010. James Stephen Karinchak (born September 22, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball at Bryant University, and was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the ninth round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, 2017 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2019. Danny Duffy
Daniel Richard Duffy (born December 21, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Kansas City Royals. After being drafted by the Royals in 2007, Duffy spent the next several years in the Royals' minor league system, and represented the team in the 2009 All-Star Futures Game. Robert Dean Manfred Jr. (born September 28, 1958) is an American lawyer and business executive who is serving as the tenth Commissioner of Baseball, commissioner of Major League Baseball.
