2020 Clare Senior Hurling Championship
The 2020 Clare Senior Hurling Championship was the 125th staging of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Clare County Board in 1887. The championship was postponed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic in Ireland. The draw for the opening round fixtures eventually took place on 1 July 2020. The championship began on 24 July 2020 and concluded on 27th September 2020. Sixmilebridge retained their 2019 title by defeating near-neighbours O'Callaghan Mills in the 2020 final who were contesting their first final since 1993 which they ironically also lost to Sixmilebridge. Format Change Time constraints led to a revision of the championship format, most notably the abolition of Round 3. The championship saw eight first-round games with the winners of these ties being drawn against the losers for the second round. Sixmilebridge
Sixmilebridge (), is a large village in County Clare, Ireland. Located midway between Ennis and Limerick city, the village is a short distance away from the main N18 road. Sixmilebridge partly serves as a dormitory village for workers in the Limerick city, Ennis and Shannon region, with a number of modern housing developments having been built to accommodate demand. History Evidence of prehistorical settlement in the area dates to the Bronze Age, and a number of ringforts, mounds, enclosures and wedge tombs are located in the parish. Cratloe GAA
Cratloe GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Cratloe, County Clare, Ireland. The club deals with both Gaelic football and hurling and basketball. The club competes in Clare GAA competitions. In November 2013, Cratloe won their first ever Clare Senior Football Championship title, defeating Doonbeg by 0-10 to 0-7. They reached the 2013 Munster Senior Club Football Championship final on 1 December, but were defeated 0-13 to 0-12 by Dr Crokes. In 2014, Cratloe won the Clare Senior Hurling championship on 5th October and the Clare Senior Football Championship seven days later. Inagh-Kilnamona GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the parish of Inagh and Kilnamona, County Clare in Ireland. The club field teams in hurling. The present club was formed prior to the 2008 season when Inagh GAA and Kilnamona GAA merged to form one club. History The club was set up in 1887. It was originally called Smith O'Brien's, Kilnamona, after the nationalist William Smith O'Brien (1803–64).
