2020 Canadian Country Music Awards
The 2020 Canadian Country Music Awards, honouring achievements in Canadian country music in 2019 and 2020, were presented on September 27, 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, the event was presented as an outdoor ceremony from the Burl's Creek Event Grounds in Oro-Medonte, Ontario. Performers included Dean Brody, Brett Kissel, The Reklaws, Dallas Smith, Don Amero, Jade Eagleson, Hunter Brothers, James Barker Band, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Jojo Mason, Jess Moskaluke, Tebey and Marie-Mai at Burl's Creek, and Lindsay Ell, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter and Tenille Townes performing remotely from Nashville, as well as guest appearances by American country stars Tim McGraw, Kane Brown and Sam Hunt with Breland. The ceremony was broadcast by the Global Television Network, as well as on several country radio stations owned by Corus Entertainment. Burl's Creek Event Grounds
Burl's Creek Event Grounds is a large-scale outdoor music venue in Oro-Medonte township, north of Barrie, Ontario, Canada. It is located on the south side of Ontario Highway 11, Highway 11 on Oro-Medonte's 8th Line, between Barrie and Orillia. It most notably holds the Boots and Hearts Music Festival in August each summer, and the Barrie Automotive Flea Market each June and September. Description Spanning over , Burl's Creek Event Grounds is the largest unused outdoor music venue in Canada. Operating as an event park since 1984, Burl's Creek changed ownership in 2014. Subsequent site alterations and landscaping developed three natural turf amphitheatres for concert viewing. A 1930s-era timber-framed barn was retrofitted into a centrepiece. The James Barker Band is a Canadian country group formed in Woodville, Ontario, in 2015. The band consists of James Barker, Taylor Abram, Connor Stephen, and Bobby Martin.
