2020 BCL Americas Final
The 2020 BCL Americas Final was the final game of the 2019–20 BCL Americas, the 1st season of the league under its new entity and the 13rd of the pan-American premier basketball league organised by FIBA. It was played at the Antel Arena in Montevideo on 30 October 2020. The game was played between Argentine club Quimsa and Brazilian club Flamengo. Quimsa won the final 92–86 and captured its first pan-American championship, thus also qualifying for the 2021 FIBA Intercontinental Cup The 2021 FIBA Intercontinental Cup was the 30th edition of the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Antel Arena
The Antel Arena is a multipurpose indoor arena that is located in the neighborhood of Villa Española, Montevideo, Uruguay. The arena has a capacity of 15,000 people for concerts, and 10,000 people for basketball games. The arena was built by the state telecommunications company ANTEL after they reached an agreement with the city of Montevideo, which granted them the rights to the arena for 30 years. The venue is operated by American company ASM Global. History The arena was built at the location of the old Cilindro Municipal, after it was left in a dilapidated state after a fire. Before the Antel Arena could be constructed, the old Cilindro Municipal had to be demolished. Construction on Antel Arena began in May 2014, and the arena opened on November 12, 2018. In basketball, free throws or foul shots are unopposed attempts to score points by shooting from behind the free-throw line (informally known as the foul line or the charity stripe), a line situated at the end of the Key (basketball), restricted area. In basketball, a field goal is a basket scored on any shot or tap other than a free throw, worth two or three points depending on the distance of the attempt from the basket. Franco Nicolás Balbi (born August 21, 1989), is an Argentinian professional basketball player who currently plays with Boca Juniors in the Liga Nacional de Básquet. At a height of 6'2" (1.88 m) tall, he plays at the point guard position. Professional career Balbi started playing youth club basketball with Club Villa Belgrano, in the city of Junín, when he was 5. Marcus Vinicius Vieira de Souza (born May 31, 1984), commonly known as Marquinhos Vieira, or simply Marquinhos, is a Brazilian professional basketball player. Jose Benito Cabrera Cuevas, also known as Fabián Ramírez, (born 6 July 1963) is a Colombian former guerrilla leader and member of the higher command of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). He was born in El Paujil, Caqueta Department, Caqueta. Until 2004, he was the FARC's 14th Front Commander.
