Fred McNair (gridiron Football)
Fred McNair (born December 11, 1968) is an American gridiron football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Texas Southern University after coaching at his alma mater Alcorn State University. McNair played professionally as quarterback with the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League (CFL), the London Monarchs in the World League of American Football (WLAF), and the Florida Bobcats, Carolina Cobras, and Columbus Destroyers, Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League (AFL). 1992 NCAA Division I-AA Football Season
The 1992 NCAA Division I-AA football season, part of college football in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association at the Division I-AA level, began on September 5, 1992, and concluded with the 1992 NCAA Division I-AA Football Championship Game on December 19, 1992, in Huntington, West Virginia. The Marshall Thundering Herd defeated the Youngstown State Penguins by a score of 31–28. It was the second consecutive year that Marshall and Youngstown State faced off in the I-AA title game. Leslie Antonio Frazier (born April 3, 1959) is an American football coach and former cornerback who is the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). Leonard Fairley
Leonard C. Fairley (born January 2, 1951) is a former American football cornerback who played one season with the Houston Oilers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Oilers in the seventh round of the 1974 NFL Draft. He played college football at Alcorn Agricultural and Mechanical College and attended M. F. Donald Jerome Driver (born February 2, 1975) is a former American football wide receiver. After playing college football for Alcorn State University, Driver was picked by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He spent his entire 14-season NFL career with the Packers and holds the franchise's all-time records for most career receptions and receiving yards. Soul Bowl
The Soul Bowl is an American college football rivalry between Jackson State and Alcorn State. Mississippi's two largest historically black colleges and universities have played over 80 times in the game dating back to the late 1920s. The game has carried the unofficial moniker "the Soul Bowl" since the late 1970s. JSU currently holds a 48-38-2 lead in the series which has included some of the greatest names in college football. From 1993 to 2011, the game was dubbed the "Capital City Classic" and held in Jackson annually before it was moved to an alternating schedule between Jackson and Lorman in 2012.
