2019–20 UT Arlington Mavericks Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 UT Arlington Mavericks men's basketball team represented the University of Texas at Arlington in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mavericks, led by second-year head coach Chris Ogden, played their home games at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 14–18, 10–10 in Sun Belt play to finish seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Sun Belt tournament to Coastal Carolina. Previous season The Mavericks finished the 2018–19 season 17–16, 12–6 in Sun Belt play to finish in a tie for 2nd place. In the Sun Belt tournament, they defeated Georgia Southern in the semifinals, advancing to the championship game, where they were defeated by Georgia State. Chris Ogden
Christopher Kyle Ogden (born October 16, 1980) is an American college basketball coach who is the currently an assistant coach at Texas. He was previously the head coach at UT Arlington. Playing career Ogden was a four-year player at Texas from 1999 to 2003, playing for Rick Barnes where he was a member of four NCAA tournament teams, and graduated as the school's all-time winningest player, as he was a part of 97 wins. Coaching career While completing his undergraduate studies, Ogden assumed a student assistant role, and move into various administrative roles for Texas until 2008, when he was elevated to assistant coach. He remained on staff with Barnes through 2015, and followed Barnes to Tennessee as an assistant coach for the 2015–2016 season. Whitehouse is a city in Smith County, Texas, United States. The population was 7,660 in the 2010 census, and 8,257 in 2020. It is part of the Tyler, Texas, metropolitan statistical area. Argyle, Texas
Argyle is a town in Denton County, Texas, United States, with a population of 4,403 as of 2020. It is a suburb of Fort Worth. History The first European settlement, consisting of a few families, occurred in the Argyle area in the 1850s. The place was then known as Pilot Knob or Waintown.
