2019–20 Tour De Ski
The 2019–20 Tour de Ski was the 14th edition of the Tour de Ski and part of the 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. The World Cup stage event began in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on 28 December 2019 and concluded with the Final Climb stage in Val di Fiemme, Italy, on 5 January 2020. The tour was the third tour starting in Lenzerheide. The last stage known as the Final Climb was held as a mass start for the first time. A points standing replaced the sprint standing from previous editions. Alexander Bolshunov became the overall winner, surpassing Sergey Ustiugov and Johannes Høsflot Klæbo. He became the third Russian to win the Tour de Ski. In women's event the overall winner became Therese Johaug, who won the third Tour de Ski cup in her career. Natalya Nepryayeva was second and defending champion Ingvild Flugstad Østberg finished third. 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 39th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 29 November 2019 in Ruka, Finland and concluded on 8 March 2020 in Oslo, Norway. The Sprint Tour, a stage event scheduled in Quebec City and Minneapolis on 14–17 March 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The same reason forced the cancellation of World Cup scheduled in Canmore on 20–22 March 2020, including mixed relay. Sjur Røthe
Sjur Røthe (born 2 July 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He is a three-time World champion. Career He made his World Cup debut in March 2009 in Trondheim, but did not finish the race, and collected his first World Cup points in November 2009 in Beitostølen, with an eighteenth place. A fifteenth place in a 4 × 10 km relay race followed. He represents the sports club Voss IL, and lives in Oslo. He was diagnosed with Bekhterev's disease. The ''Fédération internationale de ski et de snowboard'' (FIS; en, International Ski and Snowboard Federation) is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, the FIS is responsible for the Olympic disciplines of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen
Astrid Uhrenholdt Jacobsen (born 22 January 1987) is a Norwegian cross-country skier and a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). She skis with the IL Heming club in Oslo, near Holmenkollen. Her greatest achievement is winning the gold medal in sprint at the 2007 World Championships. On 22 April 2020, she announced her retirement from cross-country skiing in favour of medical studies. Career Before 2006/07 season Prior to the 2006/07 season Jacobsen had competed in five World Cup events, three sprint races and two pursuits. One sprint in Drammen in the 2004/05 season and the rest at the end of the 2005/06 season. Her best result in those races was a 10th place in the freestyle sprint in Changchun, China where she lost in the semi final, having had the third best qualifying time. ''Stage 7'' is a 30-minute American TV drama anthology series that was broadcast on CBS from December 12, 1954, through September 25, 1955. This program premiered in December 1954 with the title ''Your Favorite Playhouse'' with all episodes being repeats from other series, but later featured original episodes. Stage 5
Stage 5 (or, originally, "Stage V") is an unofficial stage at the Walnut Valley Festival, an annual bluegrass festival in Winfield, Kansas, United States. Set up in the Pecan Grove campground, the informal stage began in 1987 when camper Russell Brace and friends built it on the back of a 1954 Chevrolet 4100 1-1/2 ton flatbed truck. The stage is so-named because the festival proper has four main stages. The stage was immediately popular and is now a cherished tradition at the annual event. Audiences at Stage 5 can usually expect to hear typical acoustic string instruments. However, many musicians, while there, part from traditional bluegrass styles and emphasize a looser, more rock-oriented interpretation of roots music. Several notables have played Stage 5.
