2019–20 SLC Twenty20 Tournament
The 2019–20 SLC Twenty20 Tournament was a Twenty20 cricket tournament that was held in Sri Lanka. It was played between twenty-six domestic teams in Sri Lanka, with the tournament running from 4 to 21 January 2020. Moors Sports Club were the defending champions. On the opening day of the tournament, Shehan Jayasuriya scored a century for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club and Mohomed Dilshad took a five-wicket haul for Saracens Sports Club. On the third day, Ashen Bandara scored a century for Saracens Sports Club and Asitha Fernando took six wickets for eight runs for Chilaw Marians Cricket Club. Day five saw Irosh Samarasooriya score an unbeaten 108 from 59 balls for Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club. The match between Police Sports Club and Sinhalese Sports Club finished as a tie, but no Super Over was played. Sri Lanka Cricket
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka. It was first registered with the Sri Lankan Ministry of Sports (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Sports as the Board of Cricket for Sri Lanka (BCCSL) on 30 June 1975 as a national sports body. The board was renamed in 2003. The SLC operates all of the Sri Lankan national representative cricket sides, including the Sri Lanka national cricket team, Men's, Sri Lanka women's national cricket team, Women's and Sri Lanka national under-19 cricket team, Under-19 sides. Nugegoda Sports And Welfare Club
Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club is a multi-faceted Sri Lankan club founded in 1870. It is based in the Colombo suburb of Athurugiriya which is just to the north of Nugegoda. It is best known for its first-class cricket team which was formed before the 2013–14 season when it took part in the second-class Donovan Andree Tournament. Ahead of the 2019–20 season, Nugegoda were elevated to first-class, List A and Twenty20 status. They played in Tier B of the Premier League Tournament, the Invitation Limited Overs Tournament and the SLC T20 Tournament. Mahamarakkala Kurukulasooriya Patabendige Akila Dananjaya Perera ( si, අකිල ධනංජය; born 4 October 1993), popularly as Akila Dananjaya, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who plays all forms of the game for the national team. In March 2021, he became the first bowler to take hat-trick and be hit for the maximum of six sixes in an over in the same match, by Kieron Pollard against West Indies . Wedagedara Sadeera Rashen Samarawickrama (born 30 August 1995) is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who represents the national team in Tests but has represented in all formats of the game.
