2019–20 PlusLiga
The 2019–20 PlusLiga was the 84th season of the Polish Volleyball Championship, the 20th season as a professional league organized by the Polish Volleyball League SA ( pl, Polska Liga Siatkówki SA) under the supervision of the Polish Volleyball Federation ( pl, Polski Związek Piłki Siatkowej). The season has been cancelled due to the 2020 coronavirus outbreak. PlusLiga
The PlusLiga is the highest level of men's volleyball in Poland, a professional league competition featuring volleyball clubs located in this country. It is overseen by Polska Liga Siatkówki SA (PLS SA). It is currently a 16 teams league from October to April/May. The regular season is followed by playoffs, with the winner earning the Polish Championship ( pl, Mistrzostwo Polski). It is one of the best volleyball leagues in Europe, being highly ranked in the international competitions. Grzegorz Bociek
Grzegorz Bociek (born 6 June 1991) is a Polish volleyball player. At the professional club level, he plays for Cuprum Lubin, two–time Polish Champion (2016, 2017). Personal life Bociek was born in Sielec, Poland. He has two brothers – Łukasz, Piotr and a younger sister Monika (born 1996), who is also a volleyball player and has played in the Polish women's junior national team. On June 12, 2014, his fiancée Paulina gave birth to their daughter Alicja. On October 1, 2014, Bociek announced at a press conference that he is suspending his sports career because of a serious disease. He was suffering from a tumor of the lymphoid tissues. On October 4, 2014, he married Paulina (née Bigos). Bociek disease began with lymphadenopathy in the neck. Upon further investigation, it turned out that it was a cancer of the lymphatic system. Bartosz Gawryszewski
Bartosz Gawryszewski (born 22 August 1985) is a Polish former professional volleyball player. Career Club He debuted in PlusLiga in 2004 as the AZS Częstochowa player. In his first season he won bronze medal of the Polish Championship after matches with Jastrzębski Węgiel. Then played for Jadar Radom. In 2008, he moved to Asseco Resovia Rzeszów. He achieved with this club silver (2008/2009) and bronze (2009/2010) medal of the Polish Championship. In 2010/2012 he was a player of Jastrzębski Węgiel. In 2011 Jastrzębski Węgiel, including Gawryszewski, won silver medal of the Club World Championship 2011 held in Qatar. Since 2012 he has been playing for LOTOS Trefl Gdańsk. In 2014 he was elected captain of the team by the coach Anastasi. On April 19, 2015 LOTOS Trefl Gdańsk, including Gawryszewski, achieved Polish Cup 2015. Mateusz Malinowski (born 6 May 1992) is a Polish professional volleyball player who plays as an opposite spiker for LUK Lublin. Career Club In 2011, Malinowski joined Jastrzębski Węgiel. In the same year, he won a silver medal of the Club World Championship. In 2013, Malinowski won a bronze medal of the Polish Championship. During the 2013/2014 season, the team was promoted to the Final Four of the 2013–14 CEV Champions League held in Ankara, and after defeating Zenit Kazan in a third place match, won a bronze medal.
