2019–20 Perth Wildcats Season
The 2019–20 NBL season was the 39th season for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL. Roster Depth chart Preseason The Wildcats pre-season included 4 regular pre-season games and 2 NBL Blitz games. Their first three games were held in Perth against the Adelaide 36ers. As a club in the NBL they also took part in the NBL Blitz and played games against the Illawarra Hawks and Melbourne United, which was followed by another pre-season game in Melbourne against Melbourne United. They decided to opt out of the NBLxNBA games in the United States. Jesse Wagstaff
Jesse Kendall James Wagstaff (born 30 April 1986) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Perth Wildcats of the National Basketball League (NBL). After playing college basketball for the Metro State Roadrunners in the United States, he joined the Wildcats in 2009 and won Rookie of the Year and a championship in his first season in the NBL. He went on to earn NBL Best Sixth Man in 2012 and then won five more championships in 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Early life and career Born and raised in Canberra, Wagstaff graduated from Radford College in 2003 and attended Australian National University in 2004–05. He represented Australia at the Oceania Youth Tournament in 2004 and averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per game. He also played semi-professionally during this time, playing in the Waratah League for the ACT Academy of Sport in 2004 and the Canberra Nationals in 2005. Melbourne United
Melbourne United is an Australian professional basketball team based in Melbourne, Victoria. United compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at John Cain Arena. The team made their debut in the NBL in 1984 as the Melbourne Tigers, as an extension of the Melbourne Basketball Association (MBA). The franchise entered into private ownership in 2002, ending the team's relation with the MBA. The Tigers were led by coach Lindsay Gaze and his son Andrew from 1984 until 2005, with the pair guiding the Tigers to two championships in the 1990s. The pair were supported by fellow club legends such as Dave Simmons, Lanard Copeland and Mark Bradtke. Illawarra Hawks
The Illawarra Hawks (formerly the Wollongong Hawks and The Hawks) is an Australian professional basketball team based in Wollongong, New South Wales. The Illawarra Hawks compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at WIN Entertainment Centre, known colloquially as "The Sandpit". The Illawarra Hawks are the only remaining NBL team to have competed in every season since the league's inception in 1979. The team won their first and so far only NBL Championship in 2001 and finished as runners-up in 2005, 2010 and 2017.
