2019–20 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Northern Arizona Lumberjacks men's basketball team represent Northern Arizona University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Lumberjacks, led by interim head coach Shane Burcar, played their home games at the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona, with their non-conference home games at Rolle Activity Center, and one at Findlay Toyota Center, as members of the Big Sky Conference. On June 2, 2019, it was announced that head coach Jack Murphy would be stepping down, in order to take the associate head coaching position at his alma mater, Arizona. Assistant coach Shane Burcar was named the interim head coach for the 2019–20 season. Under Coach Burcar, the Lumberjacks posted their best season in five years. Shane Burcar
Shane Burcar is the current head coach of the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks men's basketball team. Coaching career Burcar began his coaching in the high school ranks, highlighted by a 12-year tenure as the head boys basketball coach at Mesa High School, where he compiled a 277–110 overall record with seven regular-season regional titles, and an Arizona Division I state title in 2016. In 2018, he joined Jack Murphy's staff at Northern Arizona. 2018–19 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 6, 2018. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded with the Final Four in Minneapolis on April 8, 2019. Practices officially began on September 28, 2018.
