2019–20 NC State Wolfpack Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolfpack were led by third-year head coach Kevin Keatts and played its home games at PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). After winning its second round match-up with Pittsburgh in the 2020 ACC men's basketball tournament and before its quarterfinal match-up with Duke, the tournament was canceled due to concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic. Later that afternoon, the NCAA announced that all Winter and Spring championships would be canceled, including the NCAA tournament. Kevin Keatts
Kevin Andre Keatts (born July 28, 1972) is an American college basketball coach. He is the current men's head coach at North Carolina State University. Early life and playing career Keatts grew up as an only child in Lynchburg, Virginia. His father was a masonry instructor at Amherst County High School, and Keatts worked as his apprentice on the weekends. He attended Heritage High School and played point guard on their basketball team as well as quarterback on their football team. As starting quarterback, Keatts led the football team to be ranked the best in the state, losing only one game his entire career. He played basketball for Ferrum College, averaging 13.3 points per game by his senior year. Coaching career Keatts began his coaching career as an assistant at Southwestern Michigan College for the 1996–97 season. 2019 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2019 ACC men's basketball tournament was the 66th annual postseason men's basketball tournament for the Atlantic Coast Conference, held March 12–16, 2019 at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Virginia Cavaliers and North Carolina Tar Heels entered the tournament as the top two seeds, both with 16–2 conference, and ranked #2 and #3 in the country respectively. Both teams were defeated in the semifinals, by the #4 Florida State Seminoles (ranked #12 nationally) and the #3 Duke Blue Devils (ranked #5 nationally). Duke defeated Florida State, 73–63, in the championship game, claiming their 21st ACC Tournament title and 15th during head coach Mike Krzyzewski's tenure. Thomas Allen (born October 21, 1998) is an American basketball player. He played college basketball for the NC State Wolfpack and Nebraska Cornhuskers. High school career Recruiting Allen was one of the nation's top high school shooters and was a consensus top-100 recruit for the class of 2018. Southwest Mississippi Community College is a public community college in Summit, Mississippi. History The college was officially started in 1908 as an agricultural high school. Sacha Liam Killeya-Jones (born August 10, 1998) is an American-British professional basketball player for Surne Bilbao Basket of the Liga ACB. He played college basketball for Kentucky. High school career Killeya-Jones grew up playing football at the quarterback position. As a freshman at Woodberry Forest School in Woodberry Forest, Virginia, he played football, a year before giving up the sport in exchange for basketball, which better suited his height and build.
