The 2019–20 Liga IV Olt was the 52nd season of the Liga IV Olt, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 24 August 2019 and was ended officially on 16 July 2020, after it was suspended since 9 March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Petrolul Potcoava was crowned as county champion. Liga IV Olt is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Olt County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 15 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Coming after a strong regional championship, the first editions, at least for Olt County, were the most successful, meaning that most of the promotion playoffs were won. The 2019–20 Liga IV Teleorman (Liga IV Fortuna Sports for sponsorship reasons) was the 52nd season of the Liga IV Teleorman, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 30 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was ended officially on 20 July 2020 after AJF Teleorman (County Football Association) concluding that the teams could not meet the medical conditions imposed by the medical protocol. 2019–20 Liga IV
The 2019–20 Liga IV was the 78th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The champions of each county association play against one from a neighboring county in a playoff to gain promotion. This had to be the third season when the counties were divided into 7 regions, each consisting of 6 counties and the draw was made on 15 February 2019, with 4 months before the first matches. In the spring of 2020, most of the county leagues were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 11 May 2020, the Romanian Football Federation announced that the promotion format will be changed, especially due to the fact that no team (apart from the teams that were already excluded or dissolved) relegated from Liga III. The promotion play-off system was changed from 21 two-legged matches in 14 groups of 3 teams, the winners of the groups and the best 7 ranked runners-up will be promoted to the third tier, 14 teams instead of 21. FC Olt Scornicești
Fotbal Club Olt Scornicești (), commonly known as FC Olt Scornicești, Olt Scornicești or simply as FC Olt, is a Romanian football club based in Scornicești, Olt County. Founded in 1972, it soon became one of the best teams from a rural area, also representing the home village of former dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu and arguably receiving "extra help" to reach Divizia A and remain there. After the Romanian Revolution the club was relegated by the Romanian Football Federation and struggled to stay solvent. FC Olt is currently playing in the Liga IV, Olt County series.
