2019–20 Liga IV Giurgiu
The 2019–20 Liga IV Giurgiu was the 39th season of Liga IV Giurgiu, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The season began on 24 August 2019 and was scheduled to end in June 2020, but was suspended in March because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Romania. The season was ended officially on 25 July 2020 after a promotion play-off match between the teams in first place in the South and North Series. Argeșul Mihăilești crowned as county champion. Liga IV Giurgiu
Liga IV Giurgiu is the county football division of Liga IV for clubs based in Giurgiu County, România. The competition is ranked as the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system and it is competed between 32 teams (2x16), the winner may or may not be promoted to Liga III, depending on the result of a promotion play-off that is disputed against a winner of the neighboring counties series. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, the Romanian Football Federation proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. Promotion The champions of each county association play one another in a play-off to promote to the Liga III. Geographical criteria are taken into consideration when the play-offs are drawn. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season.
