2019–20 Highland Football League
The 2019–20 Highland Football League (known as the Breedon Highland League for sponsorship reasons) was the 117th season of the Highland Football League, and the 6th season as the fifth tier of the Scottish football pyramid system. The season began on 27 July 2019 and was scheduled to end on 18 April 2020. Cove Rangers were the reigning champions, but could not defend their title after being promoted to Scottish League Two. On 13 March 2020, the league was indefinitely suspended due to the 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak and later curtailed. On 21 March, Brora Rangers were awarded the title following a vote of the league's member clubs. League positions were confirmed in August 2020 based on points per game in the curtailed season. Deveronvale F
Deveronvale Football Club are a senior association football club currently playing the Highland Football League in Scotland. They were founded in 1938 and play their football at the Princess Royal Park in the town of Banff, (formerly Banffshire, now officially Aberdeenshire), Scotland. The club was formed in 1938 when Deveron Valley and Banff Rovers joined together. The name comes from the River Deveron, which has its mouth at Banff. After they were formed, it took them one year to get into the Highland League. In August 1939, Deveronvale played their first league game. Their first win came a month later. Buckie
Buckie ( gd, Bucaidh) is a burgh town (defined as such in 1888) on the Moray Firth coast of Scotland. Historically in Banffshire, Buckie was the largest town in the county until the administrative area was abolished in 1975. The town is the third largest in the Moray council area after Elgin and Forres and within the definitions of statistics published by the General Register Office for Scotland was ranked at number 75 in the list of population estimates for settlements in Scotland mid-year 2006. Brora ( , gd, Brùra) is a village in the east of Sutherland, in the Highland area of Scotland. Origin of the name The name ''Brora'' is derived from Old Norse and means "river with a bridge". History Brora is a small industrial village, having at one time a coal pit, boat building, salt pans, fish curing, lemonade factory, the new Clynelish Distillery (as well as the old Clynelish distillery which is now called the Brora distillery ), wool mill, bricks and a stone quarry. The white sandstone in the Clynelish quarry belongs to the Brora Formation, of the Callovian and Oxfordian stages (formerly Middle Oolite) of the Mid-Late Jurassic. Stone from the quarry was used in the construction of London Bridge, Liverpool Cathedral and Dunrobin Castle. When in operation, the coalmine was the most northerly coalmine in the UK. 2019–20 Scottish League Two
The 2019–20 Scottish League Two (known as Ladbrokes League Two for sponsorship reasons) was the 25th season in the current format of 10 teams in the fourth-tier of Scottish football. Ten teams contested the league: Albion Rovers, Annan Athletic, Brechin City, Cove Rangers, Cowdenbeath, Edinburgh City, Elgin City, Queen's Park, Stenhousemuir and Stirling Albion. The season began on 3 August 2019 and was scheduled to end on 2 May 2020. On 13 March 2020 all SPFL leagues were indefinitely suspended due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. On 8 April, with the pandemic continuing, the SPFL board proposed to curtail the 2019–20 League Two season and use the points per game earned by each team to date as the final standings.
