2019–20 Fortuna Düsseldorf Season
The 2019–20 season was Fortuna Düsseldorf's 121st season in existence and the club's 39th (non-consecutive) season in the top flight of German football. This is their second consecutive season in the Bundesliga. In addition to the domestic league, Fortuna Düsseldorf participated in this season's edition of the DFB-Pokal. Fortuna Düsseldorf
Düsseldorfer Turn- und Sportverein Fortuna 1895 e.V., commonly known as Fortuna Düsseldorf (), is a German football club in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, which competes in the 2. Bundesliga. Founded in 1895, Fortuna entered the league in 1913 and was a fixture in the top flight from the early 1920s up to the creation of the Bundesliga in 1963. 2022–23 will be their third season in a row in the 2. Bundesliga since getting relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2019–20 season. Fortuna captured one German championship in 1933 and two German cup DFB-Pokal wins in 1979 and 1980. Alfredo Morales (born May 12, 1990) is a professional soccer player who plays as a defensive midfielder for New York City FC in Major League Soccer. Born in Germany, Morales represented the United States national team. Club career Morales took his first steps at Borussia Pankow in the east of Berlin. In November 2008, Morales played his first match for Hertha BSC II in the Regionalliga. In 2010, he was allowed to travel with the professional players to the summer training camp for first time, though he could not make it to the squad. Mathias Jattah-Njie Jørgensen (; born 23 April 1990), also known by his mononymous nickname Zanka, is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Brentford and the Denmark national team. Jørgensen began his career at boyhood club FC Copenhagen, playing regularly in five Superliga seasons, before a move to PSV Eindhoven in 2012, where he spent two seasons in the Eredivisie before returning to Denmark after finding his chances limited. Thomas Pledl
Thomas Pledl (born 23 May 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Club career Pledl went through the renowned youth ranks of TSV 1860 Munich before leaving the club in 2012 to join Greuther Fürth. For Greuther Fürth he made his Bundesliga debut in November of the same year, as a substitute for Felix Klaus in a 2–0 defeat to Hannover 96. Erik Thommy (born 20 August 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and winger for Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City. Valon Berisha (born 7 February 1993) is a Kosovan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for A-League club Melbourne City, on loan from Ligue 1 club Reims, and the Kosovo national team.
