FC Groningen
Football Club Groningen () is a Dutch professional association football club based in Groningen, province of Groningen. Founded on 16 June 1971 as the successor of GVAV, the team compete in the Eredivisie, the highest tier of Dutch football. Groningen played their inaugural season in the Eredivisie, before the side were relegated to the Eerste Divisie in 1973–74 as they got into financial difficulties. Groningen were promoted back to the Eredivisie as champions in 1979–80 and remained in the top flight for almost 20 seasons before they dropped to the second tier in 1997–98. The team won promotion to the Eredivisie in 1999–2000, where they have remained since. Groningen have won the KNVB Cup once—in 2014–15—and were runners-up in 1988–89. Groningen achieved their highest-ever league position in 1990–91 when they finished third in the Eredivisie. Joel Asoro
Joel Joshghene Asoro (born 27 April 1999) is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Djurgårdens IF. Club career Early career Asoro started his career in his local club IFK Haninge in a southern Stockholm suburb. When he was eleven years old he moved to IF Brommapojkarna, well known throughout Sweden for its youth academy which has produced players such as John Guidetti, Albin Ekdal, Simon Tibbling, Dejan Kulusevski and Ludwig Augustinsson. Marco Van Duin
Marco Rudolf van Duin (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He had formerly played for Haarlem, FC Volendam, Sparta Rotterdam and Almere City, NEC and FC Groningen. Club career Van Duin progressed through the Ajax youth academy, before being promoted to the first team from Jong Ajax in 2007. In the summer of 2008, he joined HFC Haarlem, where he played his first professional game on 17 October 2008 against Excelsior. Romano Postema
Romano Ceciel Postema (born 7 February 2002) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a forward for club Groningen. Club career Groningen Postema was born in Groningen, Netherlands, and has stated that he had a passion for football from a young age: "I was always playing football on the street. Before and after school, I was only focused on one thing and that was a ball. My brother and I were always out on the street playing football. It was a fun learning experience," he recalls. He began playing organised football for hometown clubs DIO Groningen and GVAV-Rapiditas before joining FC Groningen's academy in 2013.
