The 2019–20 season was FC Augsburg's 121st season in existence and the club's 9th consecutive season in the top flight of German football. Fußball-Club Augsburg 1907 e. V., commonly known as FC Augsburg () or Augsburg, is a German football club based in Augsburg, Bavaria. FC Augsburg play in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. The team was founded as Fußball-Klub Alemania Augsburg in 1907 and played as BC Augsburg from 1921 to 1969. With over 18,800 members, it is the largest football club in Swabian Bavaria. The club has spent most of its history fluctuating between the second and third divisions, with disappointment striking in the early 2000s when Augsburg were relegated to the fourth division for two seasons. Rani Khedira (born 27 January 1994) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bundesliga club Union Berlin. Club career VfB Stuttgart Khedira started his youth career at TV Oeffingen before moving to VfB Stuttgart in 2005, a year before his older brother, Sami, joined. After progressing the ranks of Stuttgart Academy, he began to play for the U16 side by 2009. He signed a contract with the club, keeping him until 2013. Tomáš Koubek (born 26 August 1992) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bundesliga club FC Augsburg and the Czech Republic national team. Club career Koubek made his league debut for Hradec Králové in a 2–1 win against Mladá Boleslav on 30 April 2011. Julian Schieber (; born 13 February 1989) is a German retired footballer who played as a striker. Club career VfB Stuttgart Schieber made his Bundesliga debut in a match at Energie Cottbus on 6 December 2008. On 21 January 2009, he extended his contract at VfB Stuttgart until the summer of 2011. Felix Ohis Uduokhai (born 9 September 1997) is a German professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or left-back for Bundesliga club Augsburg. Club career Uduokhai was born to a Nigerian father and German mother, and is a Germany youth international. In June 2017, after his previous team 1860 Munich had been relegated from 2. Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee (born 21 August 1996) is a German professional footballer who plays as a right winger for club Arminia Bielefeld.
