2019–20 East Midlands Counties Football League
The 2019–20 East Midlands Counties Football League season was the 12th of the East Midlands Counties Football League, a football competition in England at level 10 of the English football league system. The allocations for Steps 1 to 6 for season 2019–20 were announced by the FA on 19 May. These were subject to appeal, and the East Midlands Counties' constitution was subject to ratification at the league's AGM on 25 June. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this season's competition was formally abandoned on 26 March 2020, with all results from the season being expunged, and no promotion or relegation taking place to or from the competition. On 30 March 2020, sixty-six non-league clubs sent an open letter to the Football Association requesting that they reconsider their decision. The East Midlands Counties Football League was an English football league that operated from 2008 to 2021, covering the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands. The league had one division, which stood at the tenth level of the football pyramid. 2020–21 East Midlands Counties Football League
The 2020–21 East Midlands Counties Football League season was the 13th and final season of the East Midlands Counties Football League, a football competition in England at level 10 of the English football league system. The allocations for Steps 3 to 6 for season 2020–21 were announced by the FA on 21 July 2020. The season started in September and was suspended in December a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The league season was subsequently abandoned in February 2021. Promotions and restructuring The scheduled restructuring of non-League took place at the end of the season, with new divisions added to the Combined Counties and United Counties leagues at Step 5 for 2021-22, along with new a division in the Northern Premier League at step 4. Promotions from Steps 6 to 5 were based on points per game across all matches over the two cancelled seasons (2019-20 and 2020-21), while teams were promoted into Step 6 on the basis of a subjective application process. Borrowash is a village in the Erewash district of Derbyshire, England, situated immediately east of the Derby city boundary. The appropriate civil parish is called Ockbrook and Borrowash. History Borrowash was, for most of its history, the second village in Ockbrook parish and sits on the eastern edge of Derby city. In the late 1800s it started to grow and now it is the larger of the two villages. The Derby Canal arrived in Borrowash in 1796, but it gradually fell into decline after the introduction of the railway during mid nineteenth century; and by the 1960s it was abandoned. Passenger rail service ceased in 1966 and the Borrowash railway station was demolished in 1994. The Northern Counties East Football League is a semi-professional English football league. It has two divisions – Premier Division and Division One – which stand at the ninth and tenth levels of the football pyramid respectively. History The league was formed in 1982 following the merger of the Yorkshire League and Midland League. For its inaugural season, the league consisted of five divisions.
