2019–20 Crewe Alexandra F.C. Season
The 2019–20 season was Crewe Alexandra's 143rd season in their history, their 96th in the English Football League and fourth consecutive in League Two. Along with competing in League Two, the club also participated in the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. The season covered the period from 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020. Crewe vied for promotion to the EFL League One for much of the 2019–20 season, and were top of the table (ahead of Swindon Town on goal difference) when the football season was suspended on 13 March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. On 9 June, Crewe's promotion to League One was confirmed, but Swindon were crowned League Two champions on the basis of average points per game. Crewe Alexandra F
Crewe () is a railway town and civil parishes in England, civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. The Crewe built-up area had a total population of 75,556 in 2011, which also covers parts of the adjacent civil parishes of Willaston, Cheshire East, Willaston, Shavington cum Gresty and Wistaston. Crewe is perhaps best known as a large railway junction and home to Crewe Works; for many years, it was a major railway engineering facility for manufacturing and overhauling locomotives, but now much reduced in size. Daniel Powell
Daniel Vendrys Powell (born 12 March 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger or a striker. Powell started his career with Milton Keynes Dons, and made his first-team debut aged 17 in 2008. He had loan spells with Crawley Town, Forest Green Rovers and Darlington. In both 2010–11 (during which he scored 10 goals) and 2011–12 (11 goals), he helped Milton Keynes Dons reach the play-offs. James Lawrie
James Lawrie (born 18 December 1990) is a Northern Irish semi-professional footballer who plays for club Hanley Town. The striker has represented Northern Ireland at youth level and won three senior caps. One of the most promising players to come through the Port Vale youth system in recent years, during the summer of 2009 he picked up interest from top-flight clubs. However, he was released by the club in the summer of 2010 after only featuring in a handful of games, and signed with AFC Telford United. He was loaned out to Altrincham in 2011, and signed permanently with the club in December that year, and helped the club to win promotion out of the Conference North via the play-offs in 2014. He signed with Hednesford Town in June 2017, and then moved on to Nantwich Town 12 months later. Nantwich ( ) is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East in Cheshire, England. It has among the highest concentrations of listed buildings in England, with notably good examples of Tudor and Georgian architecture. It had a population of 14,045 in 2021.
